For the past 20+ years, Sunny Wang at Essence Wealth & Insurance Services has been helping clients work toward financial goals in the Santa Clara and Bay Area.
“What makes us different is that we are very strategic, analytical, ethical, creative, responsive, and holistic when it comes to helping clients solving their financial concerns.”
Sunny Wang, the CEO of Essence Wealth & Insurance Services, is a Bay Area resident and a native of Changchun, China, and of course, a raving Raiders fan. He is fond of the weather and the business market for the financial services industry in the Bay Area. He also believes that he is surrounded by the most intelligent people in the world.
Sunny is what we like to call a Local Biz Hero, a self-made entrepreneur who brings true value to his community. High stands of professionalism and strong work ethics of small business owners like Sunny are the infrastructure of the Bay Area economy.
Sunny supports the local business ecosystem and the community as he dedicates his time to help people with their mental health issues by developing methods to overcome their sufferings and personal struggles. In his spare time, Sunny gets involved in philosophy, mixed martial arts, science, snowboarding, backpacking, camping, hiking, traveling, and helping others to improve their personal lives.
We sat down with Sunny for a quick interview –
Q: Why do you do what you do?
A: “I help people plan their financial wellbeing, and this is very gratifying.”
Q: What’s the most significant event that happened to you in this career, and what did you learn from it?
A: “It was when I realized that money is important to people, but there are more important things in life. Therefore, my job is to take the worries of money and their financial future off my clients’ shoulders so they can focus on what’s the most important to them – the present moment.”
Q: What’s the most unusual job you ever had?
A: “Well! I would like to cite an unusual but significant event that kicked off my professional journey. 1997 was the year I immigrated to the US. Since then, my life had changed for the better. Within 24 hours of my arrival in the US, my mom took me to my first job in the US as a babysitter. I was 19 years old at that time. This is how I learned my first few words of English from kids between 2-10 years old. I have never stopped working since then.”
Q: If you could share one tip with the readers for choosing a Financial Advisor, what would it be?
A: “The experiences of a financial advisor are especially important. I can honestly tell you that as much as I wanted to help people at the beginning of my career, I wasn’t fully capable of it because I just didn’t know as much as I know today. An independent and holistic advisor with at least 10 years of experience is a good starting point.”
