In the heart of Southeast Louisiana, nestled between Baton Rouge and New Orleans, lives a creative visionary with a story worth sharing. Meet Michael Davis, founder of 1 time Wall Prints, a family-run business that’s putting a colorful spin on modern decor with cutting-edge technology.
Michael isn’t your typical entrepreneur. With a background in drafting and design and a lifelong passion for art, he’s found a way to turn creativity into a hands-on business that quite literally makes an impact on walls across the region. His unique vertical wall printing technology allows him to produce high-resolution images directly on surfaces like drywall, glass, or wood. It’s like seeing a giant inkjet printer painting murals right before your eyes.
Though this form of wall art is gaining popularity globally, it’s still relatively new to the U.S. market—a fact that puts Michael in a prime position as a local pioneer. “It’s big in Europe and Asia,” he says. “But here in the U.S., it’s still catching on. That gives us a unique edge.”
His business isn’t just about printing. It’s about creating personal, lasting impressions. From large-scale commercial murals for offices and restaurants to custom wall pieces for homeowners, 1 time Wall Prints serves a wide range of clients. Michael even printed a design on the glass panel of his daughter’s gaming PC, showcasing the flexibility and creativity behind the technology.
Michael’s wife manages the operations and scheduling, while their daughter handles the designs and social media. Their son, the inspiration for the business name “1 time,” is already known as the “CEO in training”—a nod to the family’s close-knit involvement.
For Michael, running this business is more than a job. It’s a legacy. A moment that shaped his journey came years ago, watching an aging construction worker carry tools to a job site. “I realized I didn’t want to be doing that at his age. That was my turning point,” Michael shares. With that insight and a strong desire to leave something meaningful for his son, he embraced entrepreneurship.
The business officially launched in late 2024 and has been growing steadily. Michael’s approach is deliberate: focus on quality, learn the technology deeply, and build sustainably. “We’re taking it slow on purpose. I don’t want to get overwhelmed and sacrifice quality,” he explains.
The process itself is a marvel. Using UV-cured inks, prints cure instantly as they’re laid down, making the results durable, waterproof, and scratch-resistant. As soon as the print finishes, it’s ready to be touched, admired, and even cleaned. With proper coatings, outdoor prints can stand up to the region’s intense UV rays.
Though still new, the company already has its heart set on community impact. Michael offers a special tribute service printing pet portraits on urns—a touching homage inspired by his late dog, Tiny. It’s a small but heartfelt gesture that reflects the company’s values.
When he’s not working, Michael enjoys traveling with his family and introducing his kids to new experiences. A lifelong gamer, he’s recently traded in his controller to focus on building a business that his kids can one day inherit.
Whether it’s personal passion, family collaboration, or community connection, 1 time Wall Prints is a story of creativity meeting commitment. And while the art may be on the wall, the real masterpiece is the journey behind it. To learn more check out their website
