Every product on a pharmacy shelf, in a cosmetics aisle, or inside a dietary supplement bottle has a hidden story behind it, one filled with formulas, trial runs, and technical hurdles most consumers never see. For the companies trying to bring those products to life, the path from concept to shelf is rarely simple. That is where Vardan Ter-Antonyan comes in.

Vardan is the founder and managing principal of Ter-Antonyan Consulting, LLC, a firm that works with pharmaceutical, dietary supplement, cosmetic, and topical companies around the world. His mission is straightforward: help businesses stop losing time and money on technical and operational bottlenecks so they can commercialize products faster and scale them with confidence.
Many of the companies that reach out to Vardan already know exactly what product they want to bring to market. What they often do not know is how to actually make it, or how to fix it when something is not working the way it should. That is where his background as a formulation expert becomes invaluable.
Vardan guides clients through the entire process, from developing the right formula to scaling that formula up from a small lab batch to full production. When companies run into inefficiencies or waste during production, he applies Lean Six Sigma principles to identify the root cause and correct it, often in a fraction of the time a company might expect.
The results speak for themselves. In one case, Vardan helped a company recover 360,000 dollars a year in lost yield simply by identifying a small but critical flaw in their production process. In another, a single one hour consultation was all it took to solve a complex delivery problem for a nano emulsion gummy product. The client wanted the active ingredient to remain effective for eight hours instead of two. Vardan proposed adding a second, slower releasing delivery system alongside the original one, a solution now known as sustained release. The fix worked, and the client’s product performed exactly as intended.
“Usually clients know the product they want, but they don’t know how to make it,” Vardan explained. “I bring them quickly to the right formulation and guide them through how to make it and scale it.”
Vardan’s expertise did not happen overnight. He built his foundation over more than 20 years in the pharmaceutical industry, moving steadily up the ladder from manager to director, vice president, chief science officer, and site director, taking on responsibilities that included board reporting and executive level decision making.
That executive experience is now a core part of what he offers clients. Beyond formulation and production troubleshooting, Vardan advises CEOs and leadership teams who are navigating the competing demands of building, scaling, defending, and sustaining a business all at once. He helps leaders understand which phase their company is truly in and how to allocate resources accordingly, guidance that can be the difference between a company that thrives and one that stalls.
This year, Vardan channeled that expertise into a new milestone: publishing his first book, C-Suite Bible. The nearly 400 page hardcover draws on his years of executive experience to help business leaders understand how to survive and succeed in the C-suite, from communicating with boards and investors to building an effective leadership playbook.
He has also earned his Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification, one of the highest levels of operational excellence credentialing available, giving him the tools to walk into a company and quickly identify inefficiencies, waste, and the root causes behind them.
Vardan’s client base spans far beyond his home state of Colorado. He has worked with companies across the United States as well as internationally, including clients in Thailand and Canada, helping businesses of all sizes navigate everything from formulation challenges to full scale commercialization.
His path to Colorado is a story in itself. Born in Armenia in 1979, Vardan moved to the United States as a student and later earned his green card and citizenship. He went on to complete a master’s degree in molecular biophysics at the University of South Florida, where his research eventually led to a published industrial journal article. From there, he built a career in the pharmaceutical industry, eventually relocating to Colorado in 2013 to be closer to the mountains he loves to climb.
Outside of his consulting work, Vardan is an avid rock climber, mountain climber, and hiker, always seeking the next real world challenge rather than an indoor wall. He and his wife, a Colorado native, are raising three daughters and one son together.
Vardan has also been building visibility for his growing practice through a podcast, The Fathom Ter-Antonyan Show, along with published articles in respected business publications. His work recently earned him a feature on the cover of Global Healthcare Magazine, and he was recently named a winner of the Global Recognition Award in the category of Innovation, Leadership, and Research. He has also delivered a keynote address at a global nanotechnology conference and holds a peer reviewed publication in the Journal of Traditional Medicine and Applications, with a second industry journal article set to publish later this year.

Vardan’s vision for Ter-Antonyan Consulting is one of steady, sustainable growth. He sees the firm expanding to include a team of consultants who can serve an even wider range of clients, along with more opportunities to work directly alongside companies at their own facilities to solve problems in real time.
Whatever the next chapter holds, one thing remains constant: Vardan’s commitment to helping companies move from concept to market with fewer setbacks, less wasted time, and more confidence along the way.
