Mainline Nursing Services - CNA training programs that are designed to meet both state standards and real-world care expectations

How Nicole Young is Raising the Bar in Nursing Care Training

If you’ve ever waited too long for help in a hospital or worried about how your loved one was treated in a care facility, then you understand exactly why Nicole Young started Mainline Nursing Service, Inc.

Mainline Nursing Services - CNA training programs that are designed to meet both state standards and real-world care expectations

Nicole, a registered nurse with over 30 years in the medical field, has worked as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) for more than two decades and spent the last eight years as a registered nurse. She has seen firsthand the gaps in care that often come from rushed training or outdated practices. And she’s made it her mission to change that.

Teaching Compassion Alongside Clinical Skills

Mainline Nursing Service offers CNA training programs that are designed to meet both state standards and real-world care expectations. Students learn everything from personal care techniques like bathing and feeding to clinical tasks such as taking vital signs and documenting patient information accurately.

Nicole provides both entry-level training for new students and refresher courses for those already in the field who want to sharpen their skills. Every course includes hands-on lab time, so students can practice what they learn in a realistic setting before stepping into a patient’s room.

“There’s been a real decline in quality patient care,” she says. “Everyone was trained at some point, but without refreshers and accountability, people forget. They get comfortable, and patients deserve better.”

The program also emphasizes patient dignity, safety, and communication. “It’s about more than just learning tasks. It’s about learning how to treat people the right way,” Nicole adds. “We want our graduates to feel confident, compassionate, and capable the moment they enter the workforce.”

Her ideal students are often between the ages of 17 to 35, looking for a fresh start or a career boost in the healthcare field. But she welcomes anyone with a desire to learn and a heart for caring.

Rooted in Faith, Built on Purpose

The name “Mainline” reflects Nicole’s personal values. “As a believer, I say you have to stay connected to the mainline. And for me, that’s Jesus Christ,” she says. “In caregiving, you also have to be connected to your purpose.”

She launched her business as a nonprofit to make training more accessible. Right now, for every six students who enroll, two are granted full tuition coverage through internal funding. Her vision is to eventually offer free training to all qualified students, supported by her for-profit work and community grants.

Her passion also extends to workforce development. “I don’t just want to train people. I want to help them build careers. I want them to walk out of here with the confidence and competence to get hired and make a difference.”

A Vision That Goes Beyond the Classroom

Nicole is currently offering in-person classes in West Palm Beach, Florida, and is working on expanding into a hybrid model that blends online education with hands-on practice. She believes this flexible model will meet the needs of a wider range of students, especially working adults and parents.

“Nobody in my area is doing it this way,” she explains. “Online programs exist, and so do in-person ones. But a hybrid model would give students flexibility while still ensuring they get the practical experience they need.”

Her long-term vision includes opening additional training centers in Florida and expanding into other states like Texas and Ohio. As her team grows, she hopes to develop partnerships with local hospitals, clinics, and senior care facilities to create job pipelines for graduates.

Fueled by Experience, Focused on Change

With more than three decades in healthcare, Nicole has trained, supervised, and supported caregivers across many levels. Her goal is not just to get students certified, but to create a new standard in patient care.

“We want to raise the bar,” she says. “That means better training, more accountability, and ultimately, better outcomes for the people receiving care.”

In a world where so many caregivers feel rushed, unsupported, or underprepared, Nicole is bringing something different. A place to learn. A place to grow. And most importantly, a place where compassion is taught alongside clinical skills.
