Adnan’s journey in the medical and pharmaceutical wholesale industry began at just 16 years old while he was still in school. What started as an entry-level position in a warehouse has evolved into more than two decades of comprehensive experience across every aspect of the business. “I’ve been in all different departments,” Adnan explains with pride. “Warehouse health, inventory controller, quality controller, operations manager, logistics manager: I’ve done it all.” His career path took him through some of the industry’s biggest names, including D&K Healthcare Resources in Weston, FL, which was subsequently acquired by McKesson Corporation. He also gained valuable experience at Cardinal Health and Steris, giving him exposure to the largest players in pharmaceutical and medical goods wholesale across the United States.
This extensive background gives Global Medical Supply a unique advantage. “There’s a lot of companies out there where the owners don’t have the experience and they hire others. Not me, not my team,” Adnan emphasizes. “We are experienced with more than 20 years in the business, and I want to bring that experience to both our wholesale department and our web presence.”
About 10-12 years ago, Adnan made the pivotal decision to transition from working for others to building something of his own. Together with his father, he established a family business that initially focused on diabetic supply distribution. As a longtime Hollywood resident who considers himself practically native to the area, Adnan has deep roots in the community. Growing up between Florida and New York due to his father’s career in the Merchant Navy, he ultimately chose to build his life and business in Hollywood.
“I live literally five minutes from the beaches,” he shares enthusiastically. “Florida itself is a tourist destination. It’s a very clean, nice city, not much crime, and good people.” The location offers both personal and professional advantages, with proximity to airports, seaports, and beaches, plus access to Florida’s substantial healthcare market.
When not focused on business, Adnan enjoys basketball, fishing, outdoor activities, and anything related to water. He’s also passionate about playing pool and traveling, regularly visiting family and friends in New York and New Jersey.
Looking ahead five years, Adnan envisions significant growth for Global Medical Supply across all aspects of the business. “I would like to see it grow, thrive, with happy customers (not just from our wholesale end, but also our e-commerce platform),” he explains.
His expansion plans include taking the business international, particularly targeting Caribbean and South American markets where he sees substantial potential. The focus remains on providing excellent customer service, maintaining high product quality, and building lasting relationships with healthcare providers and individual customers alike.
