Macon, GA – In a world saturated with formulaic narratives, Regeneration Writers Press, LLC, stands out as a beacon of authentic expression, dedicated to amplifying diverse voices and fostering personal transformation through the power of storytelling. Founded by Margaret Eskew, Professor Emerita of English at Mercer University, this unique press is more than just a publishing house; it’s a community, a catalyst for growth, and a testament to the regenerative power of creative expression.
Eskew’s journey to establishing Regeneration Writers Press began organically, born from the enthusiasm and demand of her working adult students at Mercer. These students, initially focused on simply completing their education, discovered a profound connection with literature and a desire to share their own stories. Eskew, recognizing their potential and passion, embarked on a mission to provide them with a platform.

“Regeneration Writers Press came about as a way to encourage a sense of belonging to community for writers and to inspire them to listen to their own voices.” says Eskew. “My students and I created a supportive environment that encouraged students to come as they were, and to share their stories.”
The name itself, “Regeneration,” reflects the transformative impact of the writing process. As Eskew explains, students often experienced a revitalization, overcoming past challenges and embracing a newfound vibrancy in their lives through the act of writing and sharing their experiences.
“Students would realize an event that they had not dealt with that was keeping them, holding them back from finishing up, moving toward their dream or what they really becoming vibrant in their lives,” says Eskew.
Regeneration Writers Press is committed to providing a platform for writers to not only share their stories, but for writers to earn significant income from their writing.
Regeneration Writers Press operates with a clear vision: to promote the importance of one’s story and provide a supportive community for writers to hone their craft and share their perspectives with the world. While not striving for massive conglomerate status, Eskew aims to grow the press’s reach, ensuring that diverse voices are heard and valued.
Eskew’s dedication to her students extends beyond the classroom and the publishing process. She fosters genuine connections, providing mentorship and support that often extends for years after graduation. Her students frequently return for guidance, recommendations, and the ongoing camaraderie of the Regeneration Writers community.
Looking forward, Eskew envisions Regeneration Writers Press as a significant income stream for writers, empowering them to share their stories and contribute to a more positive and understanding world.
