A Creative Vision Takes Shape

Shelby Ford is the owner and lead artist of Let’z Paint, a Houston-based mobile paint party service. She founded Let’z Paint with a clear goal: to create an instant connection with potential clients. Shelby wanted a service that was both fun and accessible to all. “I wanted people to know exactly who we are when they see our name,” she explains. “Let’z Paint lets people know we are painting.”

Bringing Art to Life, One Party at a Time

Let’z Paint offers a unique service: mobile paint parties that can be set up almost anywhere. Whether at homes, office spaces, or school functions, flexibility is our key. Shelby’s aim is to bring a fresh, interactive experience to art lovers of all ages. Her events allow clients to paint on different materials like wood, jewelry, glass, tote bags, and pottery. This variety ensures that clients create pieces they can use in their everyday lives. Shelby believes, “We want art to have a function, which also helps with sustainability.”

Solving Problems with Creativity and Convenience

Shelby identified a common problem in the art world—repetitive offerings that left people uninspired. She aimed to break the mold and offer something new and exciting. Additionally, being a mobile service, Let’z Paint eliminates the hassle of transportation. Shelby and her team bring the art directly to clients’ locations, making the experience both seamless and enjoyable. “We want people to enjoy themselves and come away with art they’ll love and be proud of,” Shelby says.

Serving Houston and Beyond

Primarily, Let’z Paint serves Houston and the greater Houston areas. However, Shelby and her team are willing to travel as far as Dallas and San Antonio to reach new audiences. Shelby notes, “Art is good for everyone, and everyone enjoys it.” Whether for family gatherings, networking events, or corporate workshops, Let’z Paint caters to a wide range of events and clients.

A Year of Growth and Success

Since opening in June 2023, Let’z Paint has celebrated its first anniversary and experienced substantial growth. Shelby credits her success to her passion for art and the desire to offer something different. “We like to expand people’s minds with art,” she says. “Our competition isn’t doing what we’re doing, and that’s what sets us apart.”

The Story Behind the Business

Shelby’s journey into the art business is a story of purpose and perseverance. Growing up as a young black woman, she didn’t see herself represented in the art industry. This only fueled her determination to carve out her own path. After college at the highly acclaimed Kansa City Art Institute, Shelby began establishing herself as an artist by painting live on stage in nightclubs, after teaching after school art programs for local underprivileged youth in the Kansas City area. Seeing how her art intrigued others, both in the classroom & the clubs, she knew she wanted to share that experience more widely.

Building a Community of Support

Shelby has lived in Houston for nearly a decade. During this time, she found a supportive community that encourages local businesses and entrepreneurs. She actively participates in business networking groups like BluePrint Coalition, Social Boss Empire, Women in Wine, and Houston Hotties. For instance, Let’z Paint recently sponsored a health and wellness art collaboration with BluePrint Coalition, showing its commitment to community engagement. “We always enjoy collaborating with other local businesses.” Shelby says.

A Growing Team and Word-of-Mouth Success

As demand for Let’z Paint continues to grow, Shelby has expanded her team. She now has additional artists to help with events. Thanks to strong word-of-mouth advertising, Let’z Paint’s bookings keep increasing, with each party leading to new opportunities.

Shelby’s Personal Touch

Shelby’s passion for art is complemented by her love for music, which she describes as her main hobby. This creative combination fuels her innovative approach to Let’z Paint. Shelby’s connection to her clients and commitment to making art accessible make her events memorable and impactful.

Looking Ahead: An Invitation to Experience Let’z Paint

Shelby’s vision for Let’z Paint is simple: invite people to step outside their routine, explore their creativity, and connect with others through art. She encourages, “It’s time to try something new. You need to experience creating something for yourself. It helps you grow and discover new things about yourself.”

With a tagline like “We bring the paint, you bring the party,” Shelby and Let’z Paint offer a unique opportunity. Ready to try something new? Visit Let’z Paint and book a party to discover an unforgettable event.
