Michelle Forsse didn’t just start a pet bakery—she combined her culinary expertise with a deep love for dogs to create something special. After years of traveling with her husband’s military career, she settled in Columbia, SC, and pursued her culinary degree. But her passion led her beyond fine dining—straight to the hearts (and stomachs) of quite literally, Pampered Pups!
Michelle’s Culinary education led her to find out that labeling doesn’t always mean what it says. Michelle stated ” If it says it’s made with all natural or organic products, it only has to be 50%, and for dog foods and treats that means, they aren’t getting the quality and nutrition they need” She goes on to say “a lot of pups are becoming allergic to Chicken nowadays, but it isn’t that they are allergic to chicken but to chicken feathers!” Highlighting that, as the quality of food goes down dogs are getting more feathers in their food causing adverse reactions.
Michelle’s treats could not be more different! Every treat is handcrafted with all-natural, vet-approved ingredients—no fillers, no byproducts, just pure goodness. But her mission goes beyond baking.
For every bag of treats sold, Michelle donates $1 to local animal shelters, actively supports pet adoptions, and provides homemade treats to shelter pups waiting for their forever homes. She and her husband Ryan are a fixture at Columbia’s pet-friendly markets and “Pups and Pints” adoption events, turning her bakery into a true community force. One of her favorite local spots is Jakes on Devine, where she loves to unwind! Jon, the owner, is passionate about animal shelter work and fully supports Michelle’s mission. He proudly sells her treats for his furry guests, ensuring that both you and your pups enjoy the very best the town has to offer. It’s a win-win for everyone!
From peanut butter-and-bacon “Scooby Snacks” to custom birthday cakes, every creation at The Pampered Pup Bakery is crafted with love. Seasonal collections like Valentine’s Day hearts and St. Patrick’s Day clovers keep tails wagging year-round. Specialty orders, including personalized cookie cakes, are a hit for pup parties!
As Michelle celebrates her first year in business, she’s expanding her online store on Shopify and Amazon while continuing to educate pet owners on ingredient transparency. She’s on a mission to shake up the pet food industry—one wholesome, tail-wagging treat at a time.
