Fête and Fabulous Events

Princeton, NJ – Sisters Avalon Bruce, Tephanie Batson and Mauricia Dillon are the co-CEOs of Fête and Fabulous Events. They have a passion for events, art, design, and entertainment, which they have turned into a thriving business. The sisters come from a large family and initially started creating party graphics and decorations for personal events like weddings and baby showers. This passion grew into a business that they officially started in August 2023. With backgrounds in graphics and marketing, they have leveraged their skills to offer a comprehensive range of event services.

Fête and Fabulous Events

Cultural Roots and Unique Services

The business is named Fête and Fabulous Events, a nod to their Trinidad and Tobago heritage where “fête” means party. The name reflects their cultural background and love for celebration.

They provide a variety of services, including event planning, photo booth rental, event decorations, luxury room decoration, custom backdrop design, and themed party favors. They pride themselves on being a one-stop-shop for all event needs, handling everything from planning to decorations and graphic design.

Overcoming Challenges and Embracing Dreams

Avalon manages their social media marketing on platforms like Facebook and Instagram. Mauricia handles the finances, while Tephanie focuses on design, client meetings, and being the voice of the business. Avalon sees herself as the visionary of the team. She shares that the business idea was conceived years ago, but she had to put it on hold due to a battle with stage 4 cancer. After going through chemotherapy and achieving remission, Avalon is now determined to live life to the fullest and make people happy through their events.

A Family United by Love and Purpose

The sisters’ goal is to open an event hall next year, aiming to provide even more comprehensive services. Currently, they serve the areas of New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. The business is in Princeton, New Jersey, but two of the sisters live in different cities (Deptford and Sicklerville), but they can travel as needed.

Life’s Little Joys and Big Triumphs

The sisters are huge gymnastics fans and enjoy watching basketball and  supporting the Knicks. Although they are not football fans, they do enjoy hosting a good Super Bowl party. Avalon enjoys drawing and creating visual graphics and shares a love of crafting with her sister Mauricia. They have all enjoyed watching Tephanie grow into her creativity.

Avalon’s most significant personal experience was her battle with cancer. Her faith and the support from colleagues and friends in Atlanta helped her through the tough times, reinforcing her belief in the goodness of people.

Heartfelt Advice for Event Planning

When looking for an event planner, the sisters advise looking for great customer service and dependability. They have heard many horror stories about planners who disappear after being booked. Fête and Fabulous Events ensures they are 100% present with all their clients.

Family and Community Involvement

Avalon has a 26-year-old son, Tephanie has six children, and Mauricia has three children. Avalon cherishes the variety and vibrant atmosphere of Princeton, enjoying the presence of the university and its students, as well as the great restaurants there.

The sisters are also involved in community service, having recently volunteered with the American Red Cross.

The Most Exciting and Fulfilling Part – Making Memories for Clients

One of their most memorable client interactions was planning a sweet sixteen party for a girl whose parents had a limited budget, which isn’t a problem for the sisters since they can work with any budget. Having come from humble beginnings, they empathized with the family and worked hard to create an amazing party, which brought joy and tears to the birthday girl and her loved ones.

Building Dreams and Looking Ahead

Fête and Fabulous Events is growing slowly but steadily. All the sisters are working part-time in the business while holding other jobs (senior compliance officer, nurse administrator, and payroll manager). Despite the challenges, they are committed to their business and believe in putting in the hard work to achieve success.

Conclusion

Fête and Fabulous Events aims to be the go-to destination for all event needs, offering a seamless and comprehensive service. They provide a 15% discount to military personnel and run various promotions throughout the year.

They are currently running a 15% off promotion for prom and graduation season until June 30th. Avalon, Tephanie, and Mauricia are dedicated to making every event picture-perfect and fabulous.
