Alura Floyd isn’t just a photographer. She’s a mother, an artist, and an advocate for self-love. As the owner of Alura Danu Boudoir, a South Jersey-based photography studio, Alura specializes in empowering women—especially moms—to feel confident and beautiful in their own skin.
The idea behind Alura Danu Boudoir was born during a simple girls’ night. Alura and a few close friends decided to do a DIY boudoir shoot using their phones. The transformation they experienced was powerful—not just in the photos, but in how they felt afterward.
“It gave us a real confidence boost,” Alura explains. That night reminded her of her old high school camera and her love for photography. From that spark, her business was born.

As a mother of three, Alura understands how challenging it can be for moms to find time for themselves. “A lot changes after having kids—mentally and physically,” she says. Her mission is to help moms reconnect with their bodies and celebrate their journey through life and motherhood.
Clients often walk into her studio nervous but leave feeling empowered. “I just want them to feel good in their skin again,” Alura shares. And her clients agree: the experience is more than just a photoshoot—it’s a celebration of self.

“I make it easy for them,” she says. “They just have to show up. We handle the rest.”
Her sessions are designed to be fun and stress-free, with everything prepared in advance. From wardrobe choices to professional makeup, Alura ensures every detail is covered so her clients can just relax and enjoy the experience.
Based in South Jersey, Alura’s studio attracts women from across the region, including North Jersey and even as far as Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. While she rents studio space, her clients always come to her, drawn by her unique approach and warm personality.
“Being in South Jersey is perfect. We’re so close to both the beach and the mountains,” Alura says. It’s a setting that mirrors the balance she brings to her work: grounded, yet inspiring.
Alura has created accessible ways for new clients to take the leap. First-time clients who book a session during a consultation call receive $200 off their session fee. Plus, her referral program rewards both the referrer and the referred with $100 off.
Clients can also book their sessions up to 12 months in advance and choose from flexible payment plans spread across 3, 6, 9, or 12 months. These options make it easy and manageable for anyone to enjoy a luxury photography experience without stress.
These offers reflect her genuine desire to make her services available to more women who need that extra nudge to invest in themselves.
Outside of photography, Alura is a creative soul. She enjoys all forms of art, from painting and crocheting to reading and gaming. This love of creativity flows into her photography, where every session is a unique expression of both her client and her own artistic vision.
She recently joined the National Association of Women Business Owners, further aligning her work with a mission to empower and uplift.
