Danielle Vardakas, the director of Garnet Health Wellness 501(c)3, is on a mission to transform lives through yoga, mindfulness, and community outreach.
With over 30 years of experience and a master’s degree in Yoga Studies, Danielle combines expertise with compassion to bring wellness practices to people from all walks of life. Her journey, rooted in her own discovery of yoga, has blossomed into a lifelong commitment to making these practices accessible to everyone.
Garnet Health Wellness offers an array of services, including yoga, mindfulness training, Reiki, and children’s dance classes. Danielle also specializes in teacher training programs, designed to equip aspiring instructors with the tools to guide others.
Recognizing the growing commercialization of yoga, she has shifted focus toward cultivating a deeper connection to its roots—making yoga a lifestyle centered on mental and physical well-being rather than a corporate commodity.
Danielle is also transitioning her business into a nonprofit model to reach underserved communities. Her nonprofit initiative includes scholarships for yoga classes and teacher training programs, funded through creative structures like “Get One and Give One” programs. For every private lesson or class package purchased, an opportunity is extended to someone who otherwise couldn’t afford it.
“I feel there are so many people who don’t have access to yoga, which can be transformative for mental and physical health,” Danielle explains. “This nonprofit will make it possible to bring yoga to community centers, addiction recovery programs, and more.”
For Danielle, yoga is more than exercise; it’s a path to liberation and joy. From helping adults find freedom and purpose to teaching children to celebrate their bodies, Danielle tailors her approach to meet the unique needs of each participant.
Whether it’s working with someone recovering from addiction, introducing mindfulness to a lonely individual seeking community, or guiding children to connect with their breath, Danielle’s goal remains the same: to empower others to achieve balance and freedom.
Her innovative methods include using tactile experiences for children, helping them understand the movement of their breath, and creating training programs for educators who want to bring yoga into classrooms.
Danielle has been training yoga instructors for more than 15 years, with over 60 groups under her belt in Florida, Vermont, New York, Arkansas, and beyond.
Her teacher training programs are rigorous, offering participants not only knowledge but the chance to give back. Graduates of her scholarship programs are encouraged to offer free classes to their communities, creating a ripple effect of wellness.
Her commitment extends internationally. Danielle organizes trips to India, immersing participants in the profound energy of yoga’s birthplace. These journeys, she notes, are as much about healing as they are about cultural exchange.
Danielle’s dedication to her craft, her extensive credentials, and her heart-centered approach set her apart.
“I’ve walked the same path as my students,” she says. “I started as someone who knew nothing about yoga and grew from there. That’s why I believe anyone can start this journey and experience the magic of these practices.”
For Danielle, yoga is about building connections and fostering a sense of belonging. Her innovative programs and nonprofit vision ensure that every person—regardless of financial status—has the chance to experience these benefits.
Danielle’s commitment to wellness extends to her family. Her 16-year-old son, Garnet, is an integral part of her life and inspiration. Named after the grounding stone associated with stability and connection, Garnet shares his mother’s passion for natural medicine and creativity.
As Garnet Health Wellness evolves into a nonprofit, Danielle envisions employing graduates to expand outreach further. Her mission is clear: to create a world where yoga and wellness are accessible to everyone, enriching lives and fostering a sense of community.
Danielle Vardakas invites you to join her on this transformative journey. Whether you’re looking to deepen your yoga practice, train as a teacher, or simply connect with others on a path of wellness, Garnet Health Wellness offers a space where everyone is welcome.
