Longtime friends Tiara Johnson and Adrain Hemphill share more than just decades of laughter and memories—they share a calling. Born and raised in St. Louis, the two founded A Good Thing LLC, also known as A Good Thing: Marriage Resources and Community Support Group, to help couples nurture, heal, and grow in their relationships.
What began as a casual idea for a couples’ trip turned into something much bigger—a community movement focused on helping marriages thrive through workshops, retreats, and practical resources.
A Good Thing LLC exists to support couples at every stage of their marriage. Through in-person workshops on communication, conflict resolution, and intimacy, Tiara and Adrain provide safe spaces where couples can reconnect and rediscover one another.
Beyond workshops, the duo has built a growing network of trusted partners—from marriage counselors to financial advisors—ensuring couples have access to all the support they need under one umbrella. Their belief is simple yet profound: when individuals heal, marriages thrive.

One of the most unique aspects of A Good Thing LLC is its community group. Couples who join gain access to regular chats, accountability, and shared encouragement. Members even receive discounts to partner services and will soon enjoy special membership perks—like anniversary gifts, birthday shoutouts, and VIP access to retreats.
The founders have also launched Marriage Chats, a YouTube podcast where they bring real conversations about love, life, and partnership into the open. It’s another way they extend their mission to reach couples beyond the St. Louis area.
Tiara and Adrain bring authenticity to their work, drawing from their own marriages and spiritual journeys. “We want couples to know they’re not alone,” they shared. “Marriage isn’t about perfection—it’s about progress, connection, and understanding that every relationship has seasons.”
Through this openness, they’ve created a safe, faith-centered space where real stories are celebrated, and every couple feels seen and supported.
Proudly rooted in St. Louis, Tiara and Adrain say one of the best things about their city is the abundance of free, family-friendly attractions—from the world-famous St. Louis Zoo to museums and parks. These places, they say, make it easy to build memories with their families and community.
When they’re not leading workshops or recording podcast episodes, Tiara and Adrain stay grounded in creativity and family time. Tiara loves live music, meditation, and exploring the outdoors, while Adrain expresses her creativity through music and her lifelong love of Legos.
The business continues to grow steadily—organically connecting more couples through community events and word-of-mouth. They’re currently preparing to release their first book in spring, along with free eBooks and curated merchandise designed for couples. Their vision for the future includes expanding their reach through virtual programs so couples outside St. Louis can also benefit.
And as they look ahead, the founders are planning to give back to local causes, including organizations that support survivors of domestic violence. “We want to serve families in every way possible,” Adrain says. “Helping others is part of who we are.”
In a world where relationships often face silent struggles, A Good Thing LLC is a breath of hope—reminding couples that love is worth the work and that community makes all the difference.
