Every entrepreneur has that one moment when their purpose becomes clear. For Archana Kollaram Bae, that moment came after two decades of serving in government and the private sector. Surrounded by mentors and family members who dedicated their lives to national security, Archana decided to take her experience and create something of her own. The result: Porta Strategies, LLC, a Washington, D.C.–based consulting firm shaping the way businesses and governments protect financial integrity.

Founded in 2023, Porta Strategies is an SBA-certified women-owned small business with a mission to counter illicit finance and strengthen financial systems worldwide. The firm’s work spans both government and private industry, tackling complex challenges such as anti-money laundering, economic sanctions compliance, export controls and counterterrorism financing.
Their goal is simple yet powerful — to help clients navigate regulatory landscapes with integrity and insight, ensuring that financial networks remain secure and transparent.
Porta Strategies offers a wide range of specialized financial crimes risk and compliance services tailored to each client’s needs:
By focusing on collaboration and global standards, Porta Strategies ensures that every project contributes to a stronger financial ecosystem — both domestically and internationally.

Though headquartered in Washington, D.C., Porta Strategies’ reach extends well beyond U.S. borders. The company has worked with clients across the United States, the United Arab Emirates, and Africa, demonstrating its ability to operate in diverse cultural and regulatory environments.
For Archana, this global approach reflects the interconnectedness of modern finance. “If someone needs our services,” she says, “we’ll be available — no matter where they are.”
Archana’s story is one of dedication, vision, and service. Growing up near Washington, D.C., she witnessed firsthand how government and private enterprise shape national security. With an MBA from Johns Hopkins University and a career that began shortly after 9/11, her work has always centered on protecting people, institutions, and systems.
Today, she leads Porta Strategies with the same mission-driven focus — empowering others while making a tangible impact on global financial stability.
Beyond her business achievements, Archana also serves as a volunteer CFO for Do Good Global, a charitable organization committed to improving lives worldwide. From building computer labs in Ghana to restoring water systems in Zambia, Archana’s efforts extend her mission of integrity and service far beyond her professional work.
She’s also helping the next generation embrace community service through Kids Do Good, a student-led program that connects elementary school students with weekly volunteer projects in Virginia.
As Porta Strategies continues to grow, Archana remains focused on expanding both the firm’s government contracting work and its commercial footprint. Her vision for the coming years includes deeper collaboration with AI-driven technology partners to enhance financial integrity and compliance capabilities.
“Every day that I work on this mission gives me a deep sense of meaning,” she says. “We’re building something that makes a difference — for our clients, our community, our country, and the world.”
Porta Strategies stands as a shining example of what happens when expertise, integrity, and purpose meet. Through Archana’s leadership, the company continues to help clients protect what matters most — trust in our financial systems.

Colorado – What do Journey, the 1812 Overture, Doctor Who, and Denver, Colorado all have in common? I know that might sound like the setup to a lame joke. However, what ties all those dissimilar things together is anything but lame. I am talking about the exciting music company, Tchaikovsky – Bad Wolf Entertainment! Okay, […]
