From Struggle to Simulation: How Edward Fairley is Redefining Relationship Counseling

Know Love - a changemaker in the world of personal growth and relational healing

Meet the Visionary Behind Know Love, Inc.

Edward is not just a counselor but a changemaker in the world of personal growth and relational healing.

In Chesapeake, Virginia, Edward L. Fairley is on a mission to revolutionize how couples understand and improve their relationships. Through his company, Know Love, Inc., Edward has created the world’s first relationship “flight simulator”, packaged ingeniously as a board simulation. With a story as compelling as the solution he offers, Edward is not just a counselor but a changemaker in the world of personal growth and relational healing.

A simulation That Mirrors Real Life

The simulator Edward designed guides couples through the stages of a relationship—from single, to dating, to marriage—helping them experience challenges and triumphs in a safe, gamified environment. Much like a pilot learns in a flight simulator before handling a real plane, couples can now “fail safely” in their relationship journey before facing real-world consequences.

Players encounter scenarios like getting stood up, dealing with infidelity, or navigating breakups. The twist? If you have the in-simulation funds, you can opt for counseling to avoid a virtual divorce—a subtle nudge toward real-world introspection. “You don’t learn from success,” Edward explains. “You learn from failure.”

Edward is not just a counselor but a changemaker in the world of personal growth and relational healing.

Turning Personal Pain into Purpose

Edward’s path to becoming a counselor was anything but linear. Married for over 20 years, he and his wife faced serious struggles early on. During a particularly difficult period, Edward leaned on his background in telecommunications, where diagnosing issues starts with tracing the signal. This method of identifying and correcting the root causes inspired his approach to relationship troubleshooting.

By working backward through his marriage, relationship, dating life, and ultimately himself, Edward discovered his own low self-esteem and insecurities. That powerful journey toward self-awareness not only saved his marriage but also became the foundation for the simulation he now offers others.

Counseling Reimagined for the Modern Age

Traditional counseling can be intimidating and often leads to defensiveness or omission of crucial details. Edward’s simulation solves this by removing the need for personal disclosure. Each card or space in the simulation acts as a mirror, reflecting the player’s own issues back at them without judgment.

“When people feel uncomfortable landing on a certain space,” Edward says, “that’s usually the space they need to work on. And they don’t even need to say a word about it.”

Built for Busy Lives and Deep Insights

Know Love, Inc. appeals especially to couples who attend expensive marriage retreats but leave without practical tools. Edward’s board simulation fills this gap. It’s affordable, portable, and loaded with real-life application. With the ability to ship anywhere and offer virtual group coaching and a 12-week bootcamp, Edward’s model works for couples nationwide.

More Than a Business—A Calling

Every aspect of Know Love, Inc. reflects Edward’s core values. For every 10 board simulations sold, one is donated to someone in need. Edward is a firm believer in being “blessed to be a blessing,” supporting his church and using his margins to give back to the community he designed the simulation for.

Local Roots, Universal Appeal

Though Edward now calls Chesapeake home, he’s originally from New Jersey. While he cherishes his roots, he appreciates the safer, quieter environment Virginia offers for raising his children. “It’s not just about business. It’s about building the right life,” he says.

A Sweet Side Hustle

Outside of counseling, Edward finds therapy in baking. Known for his cakes, he sells them locally as a way to decompress and connect with his community. “My wife’s diabetic, so I can’t just bake for fun. Selling the cakes gives me a reason to bake and helps others in the process.”

Looking Ahead

After years of renting out his simulations and collecting powerful testimonials, Edward recently received his first mass production order—1,005 units directly from China. It marks a new chapter for Know Love, Inc. as the business scales to reach more people than ever before.

Edward L. Fairley is living proof that personal transformation can inspire global change. His story, tools, and passion are helping others not only strengthen their relationships but also better understand themselves.
