When you step into Lotus Holistic Wellness in Mesa, Arizona, it’s not just about a massage. It’s about being seen, being heard, and being cared for. Owner and licensed massage therapist Cecelia Jaramillo, known to her clients as Cici, brings a rare mix of technical skill, compassion, and lived experience to her practice.
“Everyone calls me Cici,” she says with a smile. “I started my business originally as Touch of Zen, but a dear client reminded me that the name limited me to only massage. I’ve always believed in holistic healing, and when my mom was diagnosed with both pancreatic and breast cancer in 2020, that journey deepened. The lotus flower grows in the mud, yet blossoms into beauty. That’s what my family and I lived through, and that’s how Lotus Holistic Wellness was born.”
Since 2018, Cici has been helping people relieve stress, reduce pain, and reclaim their health. She offers therapeutic massage, in-home visits, and chair massage events, all with an integrative approach. Every session is customized.
“At Lotus, my rates are all-inclusive,” Cici explains. “I don’t believe in upselling someone for cupping, hot stones, or infrared light. If you need it, you get it. My clients know they’re not just a number. They’re family.”
She also incorporates her herbal certification, creating personalized teas and oils for stress relief, inflammation, and pain management. Cici has been certified in oncology massage for two years, and her most recent certification is in geriatric massage. Both are specialties she holds especially close to her heart.
Cici’s story is as much about resilience as it is about wellness. Originally from Los Angeles, she grew up in Koreatown, East L.A., and El Monte before moving to Arizona over a decade ago. The slower pace was an adjustment, but she says it saved her life.
“In L.A. I was juggling two jobs and school. Here, I had to learn how to breathe, how to slow down. And when my mom got sick, it shifted everything. Today she’s in remission, and we’re celebrating three years cancer-free. That experience is why I work the way I do. Healing isn’t just physical. It’s emotional, spiritual, and layered, like peeling an onion.”
Lotus Holistic Wellness is located near Southern and Val Vista in Mesa, making it easy to reach for local residents. But Cici’s reputation travels farther than that.
“I see clients from all over,” she says. “Some come as far as Scottsdale, Queen Creek, and even Fountain Hills. And for those who can’t make it to me, I also offer mobile massage. Mondays and Fridays are my ‘field days,’ where I go out to homes or events. Driving doesn’t bother me. I grew up in L.A., so traffic is nothing new.”
Whether it’s in her peaceful Mesa office or the comfort of a client’s home, Cici brings the same thoughtful, personalized care.
One thing that sets Lotus Holistic Wellness apart is Cici’s commitment to safety and trust. Clients aren’t just walked through a checklist. They’re listened to deeply.
“Healing only happens when people feel safe,” she says. “That’s why I’m open and vulnerable with them. If I can create a space where they feel comfortable, their bodies can respond more fully to the work.”
Cici has big dreams for the future. “In five years, I want to open a full wellness center,” she says. “A place where people can see not just a massage therapist, but also a nutritionist, acupuncturist, physical therapist, and maybe even a mental health counselor. A true one-stop shop for healing.”
Until then, she’s pouring her heart into every single client who walks through her doors.
“I had a neighbor who became a client and told me, ‘I don’t know how there’s not a line out here waiting for you.’ That meant so much. My work is my passion, my purpose, and my livelihood.
