As the founder of O’ahu Premier Picnics, Jamie has created a business that transforms a casual beach day into a luxurious experience, allowing you to relax and indulge in Hawai’i’s beauty without any hassle.
How It All Started
Like many great business ideas, Jamie’s inspiration came during a change. “When COVID hit, I realized I needed a shift from my restaurant jobs,” Jamie recalls. That’s when she discovered the world of luxury picnics. “I saw a similar concept in Mexico and thought, ‘Why not bring that to O’ahu?’”
With that spark, she launched O’ahu Premier Picnics in May 2021. Her idea was simple but brilliant: provide beautifully styled, stress-free picnics for couples, families, and friends. “Everyone loves a picnic, but no one loves hauling everything to and from the beach. So I decided to handle all that so people could relax and enjoy.”
A Love for Local
What truly sets Jamie apart is her commitment to keeping everything local. “I don’t even have an Amazon account,” she laughs. “Everything I use is sourced from local businesses here in Hawai’i. I believe there’s enough talent and resources right here on the islands.”
From handcrafted picnic setups to fresh, locally sourced décor and materials, Jamie has a passion for supporting Hawaiian artisans and businesses. “It’s important to me that my business contributes to the community that’s given me so much,” she says.
Jamie’s also found a unique way to give back: customers can earn discounts by participating in beach cleanups or donating supplies for local kids. “It’s my way of saying thanks to the land and the people here.”
Personalized, Thoughtful Touches
Jamie’s years in fine dining taught her the importance of service. “Setting up the picnic is just part of it,” she explains. “It’s about making the experience special from start to finish.” Every picnic is customized to the client’s taste, from the color scheme to personalized touches like bamboo cutlery with her company’s logo.
“I love being part of people’s special moments,” Jamie says. “Whether it’s a proposal, wedding, or even a gender reveal, knowing that I helped create a core memory for someone is such a great feeling.”
Looking Ahead
Jamie’s business has grown steadily since she launched. She focuses on elevating the luxury experience with new elements that surprise and delight her clients.
In addition to O’ahu Premier Picnics, Jamie is excited to announce the launch of her new mobile charcuterie cart business, Da’cterie, which will debut on October 1st. Da’cterie will bring gourmet grazing boards to locations around the island, allowing guests to enjoy exquisite, locally sourced bites wherever they are.
