Rachael Crabbe, the visionary behind The Pillar Yoga and Wellness, embarked on this journey to create a sanctuary for healing and wellness. Her studio, located in the southeast side of Fort Wayne, provides a haven for those seeking massage, breathwork, health coaching, and skills to help regulate the nervous system—addressing the core needs of her clients.
The inspiration for The Pillar Yoga and Wellness stemmed from Rachael’s personal journey. A life of intensive athletic activity resulted in adrenal fatigue, pushing her to slow down, listen to her body, and prioritize self-healing. Relocating to a culturally diverse area, she felt more welcomed and recognized the need to fill a gap in the community, leading to the inception of her wellness studio.
After moving to Fort Wayne 25 years ago, Rachael embraced the area’s diversity and sense of community, hoping to offer her children a place where they could belong racially. Now, she’s established The Pillar Yoga and Wellness to extend that sense of belonging to others.
In just six weeks of operation, Rachael’s dedication to creating a unique, safe, and welcoming environment has set her apart from the competition. Her studio is not just a place for yoga; it’s a community where individuals on their healing journey, especially those aged 40-50, can find solace and support.
Rachael’s team includes two massage therapists, four yoga instructors, and one breathwork instructor, Patrice, who brings a wealth of experience from extensive training in Peru and California. Together, they offer a powerful and transformative experience.
Despite being new, The Pillar Yoga and Wellness has already received positive reviews on Google My Business, highlighting the welcoming atmosphere and the sense of belonging clients feel. Rachael encourages potential clients to overcome any intimidation by trying a class for free and experiencing the unique offerings firsthand.
In addition to her business, Rachael supports the local school care team, working with teachers, support staff, and students. She’s also involved in the SEED program, a government-sponsored initiative providing small business coaching.
Certified by the Yoga Alliance and with a nutrition certificate from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, Rachael’s six-month health coaching program integrates nutrition, emphasizing the importance of listening to one’s body.
A mother of four grown children, Rachael enjoys yoga and cross-country bike riding in her spare time. Her dedication to creating an inclusive, diverse, and authentic community shines through in everything she does.
