Meet Tasha Youngblood Brown: The Jersey Shore local turning brain training into a personal mission

When Tasha Youngblood Brown talks about LearningRx Jersey Shore North, she doesn’t start with a pitch. She starts with a memory.

“I was the kid with the stutter,” she says. “School was my safe place. I loved learning, but I also knew what it felt like to be different.”

That mix of curiosity and challenge shaped everything that came next. Today, Tasha runs a brain training center in New Jersey that helps people of all ages build cognitive skills. Think memory, focus, processing speed. Real tools that make school, work, and life a whole lot easier.

What She Does

LearningRx Jersey Shore North isn’t about providing tutoring. And it’s not therapy. It’s one-on-one brain training. Clients work directly with a cognitive skills specialist to improve how they learn and process information. Kids with ADHD or dyslexia. Adults dealing with memory issues. Seniors looking to stay sharp. Even people bouncing back from brain injuries.

Tasha explains, “We start with a cognitive assessment to see where someone’s at. Then we build a program that strengthens the areas where they need the most support. It’s all customized, and it’s all science-backed.”

Some families come in frustrated after trying years of tutoring or other services with little progress. Others are simply curious and want to give their child an academic edge. Some adults just want to feel sharper again. The beauty of brain training, Tasha says, is that it meets people where they are.

From the Boardroom to Brain Training

Before opening her center, Tasha spent decades in corporate leadership. She retired early from a top consulting firm, but she didn’t want to slow down. Instead, she decided to pour her energy into something that directly impacted the way people can transform their lives.

“I wanted my next chapter to matter,” she says. “Helping kids. Helping parents. Helping anyone who’s ever felt stuck or frustrated because learning felt hard.”

She’s always been close to education, even while in business. School boards. University committees. Coaching and consulting. But this center, she says, is different. It’s hands-on. It’s life-changing.

It also hits close to home. Tasha grew up in the very community she now serves. “I know what it feels like to be that kid who just needs someone to believe in them. That’s why I do this.”

A Gift to the Community

The center is still new, but Tasha isn’t waiting. She’s already working with clients and offering discounted cognitive assessments (normally $250).

“It’s just a way to show people what we do,” she says. “Once you see it, it clicks. You get it. And then you see how it can help someone in your life.”

She’s also connecting with local schools, homeschool families, and pediatric specialists to build a referral network. “It’s about education,” she adds. “Most people don’t even know brain training is an option.”

In the future, she hopes to grow the business across New Jersey and beyond. She’s especially excited about bringing brain training into corporate wellness programs, helping professionals tackle burnout, stress, and attention fatigue.

The Real Measure of Success

Ask Tasha what success looks like, and she won’t quote revenue goals or enrollment numbers.

“When a kid feels confident again. When a parent finally sees progress. That’s the stuff I care about,” she says. “That’s everything.”

She pauses, then adds, “We all have gifts. And I believe we’re supposed to use them to make things better for others. That’s what this is for me.”
