Based in Phoenix, Arizona, Thalia and her team provide essential services like English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, Spanish lessons, and citizenship exam preparation.
Thalia’s passion for education stems from her own experiences as a fifth-grader navigating a new language and culture in the United States. This early experience drove her to create a learning environment where students feel supported and confident in their language journey. While the majority of classes are conducted in person, there are plans to expand their offerings to online formats, making it even more accessible for busy adults.

With two locations in Phoenix and a growing team of teachers, the business is expanding faster than Thalia and her partner, Anabell Hernandez, initially envisioned. What started as a small community initiative has blossomed into a full-fledged business, and Thalia is excited about the future.
Their students range from young adults to those in their mid-40s, many of whom work in fields like construction. The evening classes are especially popular among working professionals who appreciate the flexible scheduling.
Thalia’s journey into education didn’t start with a simple business plan. Before “iSpeak AZ,” Thalia and Anabell worked for another company that promised similar language services but failed to deliver. The company eventually collapsed after swindling both students and employees. Determined to offer something better, Thalia and Anabell decided to create their own business—one based on integrity, trust, and passion for helping people.
Diversity is at the heart of “iSpeak AZ,” and that’s one of the things Thalia loves most about living in Phoenix. The city’s mix of cultures has created an opportunity to connect with people from all over Latin America. Thalia believes that learning a language is not just about communication but also about building bridges between cultures.
