Sherry Jefferson, the owner of Flirty Flame Candle Company, has transformed her passion for scents into a thriving business that’s redefining the candle-making experience. Flirty Flame Candle Company began as a personal project during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. After winning a pop-up shop contest at the Decatur Mall, she pitched the idea of a hands-on candle-making experience where customers could pour their own candles, shop, and return to pick them up. The concept was an instant hit, winning her an extended run at the mall and sparking demand for events at wine bars, birthday parties, and more.
“I searched online and didn’t find anything like it,” Sherry says. “Now, I can go anywhere—indoors or outdoors—and create a fun, personalized experience.”
Sherry’s commitment to quality and connection is what sets Flirty Flame apart. “Self-care is our love language,” she explains. “I want people to relax, enjoy the moment, and create memories with our products.” Her motto is not just about selling candles; it’s about delivering an experience.

She also incorporates aromatherapy into her products, believing in its long-standing power to calm and rejuvenate. “Aromatherapy is here to stay,” she says. “It works.”
Sherry isn’t just offering a business; she’s about giving back. Flirty Flame supports local charities through donations, silent auction baskets, and food drives. Her passion for community shines through in everything she does, whether it’s donating candles to Toys for Tots or making gift baskets for speaker events.
Her business also provides an economic boost, shipping products nationwide while maintaining a strong local presence in Athens and beyond.
As her mobile candle bar grows in popularity, Sherry is exploring new ways to enhance her customers’ experiences. From offering charcuterie boards and mocktails to hosting date-night events with individual tables for two, she’s continually innovating.
Her ultimate goal? To move into a walkable downtown space where customers can drop in, make candles, and explore the community.
“Experiences are what sell,” Sherry explains. “And I want to create even more opportunities for people to enjoy.”
