Zach Engels A Legacy in Signs

When it comes to creating high-quality, custom signs, few people are as dedicated as Zach Engels. As the owner of Economy Signs, Zach doesn’t just run a sign business—he carries on a family legacy that began with his father’s hard work and vision.

For Zach, sign-making isn’t just about printing graphics or installing letters. It’s about helping businesses grow, honoring his father’s memory, and bringing his customers’ ideas to life with precision, passion, and craftsmanship.

If you’re looking for a sign expert who truly cares about your business and delivers top-tier service with honesty and efficiency, Zach Engels is the one to call.

Carrying on His Father’s Legacy

Zach’s story in the sign industry began long before he ever made his first sign. His father owned a successful sign company, and from an early age, Zach saw firsthand the dedication it took to build a business.

“My dad worked incredibly hard,” Zach recalls. “His goal was for me and my brother to take over one day. But he passed away when I was young, and the business ended up closing.”

Rather than let his father’s work be forgotten, Zach set out to build his own sign company from the ground up—one that honored the work ethic, quality, and reputation his father had established.

“I didn’t inherit my dad’s business, but I inherited his passion,” Zach explains. “I wanted to take what I learned from him and bring that same level of commitment to my own company.”

The Economy Signs Difference

Running a sign business requires technical skill, creativity, and precision—but what sets Zach apart is his commitment to efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.

His background as a machinist for over a decade gave him the expertise to work with complex materials, ensuring that each sign is built with care and attention to detail.

What Makes Economy Signs Stand Out?

Generational Expertise – A family tradition of sign-making, built on years of knowledge.
Precision and Efficiency – Years of experience in manufacturing and machining ensure top-quality craftsmanship.
Full-Service Custom Signage – From decals to channel lettering, illuminated signs, fleet vehicle graphics, and more.
Business-Focused Approach – Helping companies increase visibility and brand recognition with stunning, long-lasting signage.
Customer-First Mentality – Zach isn’t just about selling signs—he’s about building relationships and helping businesses grow.

“I don’t just want to make a sign and move on,” Zach says. “If I help a business look more professional and attract more customers, they’ll need more signage in the future. I want to be their go-to guy when that happens.

A Man Who Knows Hard Work

Zach understands what it takes to run a business and support a family. As a husband and father of three, he balances his business responsibilities with family life, always striving to be the best in both roles.

“Running a business is tough,” he admits. “But my wife and kids keep me going. I wouldn’t be where I am today without their support.

Zach also values efficiency and problem-solving, something he perfected during his years in the machining industry.

“I thrive under pressure,” he says. “I love finding ways to be more efficient, take on big projects, and constantly improve my process.”

That dedication to improvement means Zach is always looking for better ways to serve his customers, streamline production, and deliver even higher-quality signage.

Words to Live By

Zach believes that every job is a reflection of the person who made it. His personal motto?

🛠️ “Your work is your signature—so you might as well autograph it with excellence.”

He also values people over profits, another lesson he learned from his father.

💡 “Money is replaceable. People are not.”

Looking to the Future

In just under five years, Zach has built a thriving business, and his next goal is to expand even further.

“I want to grow Economy Signs into something as strong as my dad’s business was,” he says. “I’m working toward having my own large shop, a dedicated team, and a solid base of repeat customers.”

While he already serves Green Bay, Milwaukee, Appleton, and surrounding Wisconsin areas, his goal is to establish himself as the region’s go-to sign expert.

“I want to get my name out there, just like my dad did,” Zach says. “I want people to see my work and know they’re getting the best quality available.”
