For more than 30 years, the Magnolia Blossom has sailed the Mississippi River as a private charter helping people create long-lasting vivid memories of their time on the river.
Located in St. Paul, Minnesota, Magnolia Blossom Cruises has been in operation since 1993. Captain Dan Dickinson has piloted the adventures for 17 years. While sailing the Mississippi River is a seasonal business, Captain Dan, Owner/Operations Manager, is proud of his entire crew, citing their phenomenal skills and seasoned experience in the hospitality business.
Captain Dan says there are indeed bigger boats and operations that focus on high volume; however, the Magnolia Blossom as a small company is able to offer extra value by focusing on small groups up to 100 attendees to provide a more intimate experience including the vast history of St. Paul, beautiful landscape, and highly-intriguing community.
Living only a block off the water and loving water life, Captain Dan started his water career working on the docks and getting experience with a local hotel and their boats. Upon buying the boat 17 years ago, Captain says he never looked back and jokes, “One day, I might have to get a real job.”
He feels blessed to have his wife Tamara lend her business background to the company’s continued success as well as having his daughter Grace aboard.

The Magnolia Blossom is available for weddings and receptions, corporate sales meetings, award banquets, customer appreciation parties, birthdays, retirements, or any other theme occasion which requires that extra special attention. They arrange everything from start to finish—including table settings, menu requests, entertainment, and special decorations.
Discounted trips are happily arranged for school groups and similar organizations. The Magnolia Blossom has also donated trips to military groups, supports a foundation raising money for Crohn’s, and also helps raise monies for cancer research via the Funds of Love Foundation.
