Amanda Gabbert is Bringing Zero Barrier Medical Services to Springfield!

By Glen Thomson on February 26, 2021

For the past 3 years, Amanda Gabbert and her team of medical specialists have been providing essential medical services to the local community of Springfield, Ohio. And, as of February 1st, they’ve gone above and beyond in opening a brand new location to ensure that their goal of providing zero barrier care is accomplished.

“What makes us different is that we understand the local community and go to the heart of each struggle.”

Amanda is the director of operations for PATH Integrated Healthcare, an avid supporter of Springfield of 15 years, and a very family-centered individual. In her spare time, she enjoys playing and coaching volleyball and softball and giving back to the community she’s come to love.

Amanda is what we like to call a local hero, someone who is actively involved in bringing value to her community. High standards and a positive outlook for the future of Springfield are what sets her and her team apart.

We recently sat down with Amanda for a quick interview –

Q: Why do you do what you do?

A: “The big picture is just that we’re trying to better our community. Through our offices, everyone can have access to the essential services and care that they need, regardless of age.”

Q: Which services does your office provide?

A: “We help meet a variety of needs. Whether that’s with food, clothing, social security, individual or family therapy, wellness checks and nursing services, mental health diagnosis and support, social skill development to help kids succeed in school, emotional support through groups and mentors, or even housing through a neighboring homeless shelter, our services are there to help in every situation.”

Q: What are you most excited about at the moment?

A: “As of February 1st, our new office is open, which I’m super excited about! This will be our second office in the Springfield area, which will help us in providing more care to the community. It’s even on the same property as a youth organization, as well as a homeless shelter that we work with. Honestly, everything is within walking distance, which is amazing.”

Q: What specific programs and activities do you have to help children?

A: “In addition to any medical services, some kids struggle with social situations, so they struggle with school. To help them build those social skills, we’ll do games and role-plays, so they can use these social skills in situations where they might be with their peers or at school. This way, they’re less timid and can find success in those areas. We also do art or gardening projects with them. This helps them create something they can be proud of and brings the community together. It’s really a boost to the kids.”

Q: Do you do any special work for the military community?

A: “We offer so many things that could be beneficial. We found that veterans who are struggling with mental illness, for some reason, so many other places won’t actually diagnose them. And then, when they aren’t being diagnosed, they can’t get any of the benefits that would go along with that. So we help provide the diagnosis. We’ve worked with a lot of veterans that have PTSD, which can be very traumatic, so being able to get them that diagnosis in order for them to start getting the help they need is pretty huge.”

Q: What is the most rewarding aspect of how you guys help the community?

A: “It’s really just neat to work with them and see positive change take place. We’re super excited to continue helping more people get the service they need.”
