Dina Marks, founder of Naturally Oily, is turning heads in San Luis Obispo County with her handcrafted, plant-based skincare and wellness products. Her journey began not in a lab or a boardroom, but in the kitchen. As a former pastry chef, Dina was no stranger to whipping up creative concoctions. But a life-altering health diagnosis prompted her to explore how natural ingredients could help the body heal from the outside in.

After overcoming cancer, Dina questioned the conventional advice she received during her treatment. Her own research led her down the path of herbalism and holistic health. Motivated by the idea that everyday products could contribute to long-term wellness, she trained as both a certified nutritionist and an herbalist.
Today, she blends her culinary expertise with her passion for natural healing to create products like muscle-soothing body butters, bug bite balms, sleep aids, and skin moisturizers—all made from eco-conscious ingredients.
Dina formulates and produces every item herself. Some are made to order, while others are stocked and sold locally through retail partners like The Natural Toolbox at the Pismo Beach Outlets. Customers can also find her products online, and yes, she ships nationwide.
Each item is made with clean, thoughtfully sourced ingredients. Dina emphasizes sustainability in every step of her process, using glass containers whenever possible and opting for eco-friendly, responsibly harvested materials.

What makes Naturally Oily stand out? It’s Dina’s commitment to continual learning and conscious crafting. She’s currently studying hydroponic herb farming and exploring how her skincare line can be adapted safely for animals. Her drive to innovate while staying true to her eco-friendly values ensures that customers are not only getting high-quality products but also supporting a business rooted in care and responsibility.
Though based in a quiet part of San Luis Obispo County, Naturally Oily is making waves beyond local borders. Dina frequently attends vendor events, and her recent product placement in Pismo outlets is a sign of the brand’s growing presence. By early next year, she aims to expand into more local shops throughout the county.
Naturally Oily offers a 10% discount for new customers, as well as an additional discount for subscribers. Dina also donates to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, an organization she deeply respects for its transparency and willingness to share critical cancer research.
Beyond the business, Dina is an avid hiker and former CrossFit coach who loves spending time outdoors, kayaking and exploring California’s rolling hills and ocean views. She relocated to San Luis Obispo County from the Bay Area after her treatment to be closer to family, and she’s never looked back.
Dina’s story is one of transformation, resilience, and purpose. She’s building more than a business—she’s creating a movement toward healthier living through mindful, natural products. And with each balm and body butter, she’s sharing not just skincare, but self-care that comes from the heart.
