In the heart of Brunswick County, North Carolina, lies a story of passion, creativity, and determination. Meet Milton Gore Jr., the owner and founder of MG Visual Studios, a thriving virtual graphic design and digital art business. Milton is a local business hero who combines artistry, authenticity, and a deep commitment to his community.
Milton’s journey into art began in his childhood, with a passion for drawing that was rekindled by his high school art teacher, Shelia Vaught. Her mentorship guided Milton back into the creative world, ultimately leading him to pursue a degree in graphic design and digital art at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. There, he combined his love for traditional drawing with cutting-edge digital media, laying the foundation for MG Visual Studios.
Established in 2018, MG Visual Studios is a creative powerhouse specializing in graphic design, digital art, and marketing services. Operating entirely virtually, Milton dreams of one day opening a physical studio where clients can experience his art in person. His work is known for its unique ability to resonate differently with every viewer, creating a deeply personal and emotional connection.
One standout project, titled “Roots,” reflects the connection between Earth and Black women. Part of his Of Night and Bloom series, the piece inspired profound interpretations during a recent solo gallery show. This type of impactful art sets Milton apart, showcasing his dedication to authenticity and creativity.
In addition to running MG Visual Studios, Milton works in higher education at UNC Wilmington. Inspired by his own mentors, he dedicates himself to guiding young Black men and fostering opportunities for them to succeed. Milton also collaborates with other business organizations, to assist with marketing and design.
Milton uses social media to share his art with the world and connect with fellow entrepreneurs. His platforms, including TikTok and Instagram (@mgvisualstudios and @mgvs.digitalart), serve as hubs for showcasing his work and supporting other small businesses.
A true advocate for paying it forward, Milton supports various charities, including art programs for children and SAAB National, Inc. (Student African American Brotherhood); a nationwide organization focused on mentoring young Black men and men of color, academic success, personal development, and career readiness post-graduation. His contributions demonstrate his commitment to making a positive impact both locally and beyond.
Milton is not just an artist and entrepreneur but also a devoted family man, engaged and raising his 10-year-old son, Waylon. His story is a testament to the power of creativity, community, and perseverance.
MG Visual Studios is a shining example of how local businesses can enrich our communities and inspire others. Follow Milton’s journey on social media and support this incredible local talent as he continues to create art that moves and inspires.
