Nestled in the heart of Williamsville, just outside of Buffalo, New York, Dragonfly Art and Soul is more than just a wellness boutique. It’s a sanctuary of healing, creativity, and connection. Founded by lifelong local Sarah Carr, Dragonfly Art and Soul offers a unique blend of metaphysical services, artisan goods, and community-centered events that cater to the mind, body, and spirit.
Sarah Carr’s journey into business began early. At just 16, she was traveling with the Grateful Dead, selling tie-dyes to fund her art school education. Over the years, that creative spirit evolved into a successful salon and spa that doubled as a haven for local artisans. But after COVID-19 forced a major shift, Sarah made a pivot. She transformed her business into a more focused holistic wellness center, a move that aligned more deeply with her lifelong spiritual interests and allowed her to continue serving the community in a meaningful new way.
Today, Dragonfly Art and Soul welcomes people of all ages who seek empowerment, healing, and balance. With a massive crystal room, treatment spaces, outdoor grounds, and an expansive boutique offering handcrafted jewelry, metaphysical items, and more—every corner of the shop is designed to help guests feel at home. The center also hosts readings, energy healings, and workshops that create safe spaces for self-discovery and personal growth.
At the heart of Dragonfly Art and Soul is a strong family bond. Sarah runs the business alongside her daughter, Darya, creating an inviting, family-run atmosphere. They even have a beloved shop dog, Taliah, who has her own page on the website and is a favorite among customers. Their genuine warmth shines through everything they do, from curating gifts for visitors to supporting other local artisans.
Sarah’s dedication to spiritual wellness stems from deeply personal experiences. As a child, she had a near-death experience that introduced her to what she later recognized as a spirit guide. This formative event, along with a powerful spiritual ordination and the courage to leave a long-term toxic relationship, propelled her toward creating a space where others could also find healing and empowerment.
Dragonfly Art and Soul is as much about community support as it is about personal wellness. The business regularly contributes to local causes, including food pantry drives and charitable garage sales that support cancer survivors and rare disease awareness. Sarah also volunteers as co-chair of a local board, always finding ways to uplift those around her.
A photographer at heart, Sarah brings her artistic eye to the business. She captures all of Dragonfly’s imagery herself, making every product photo and promotional image uniquely authentic. Art classes and hands-on creative experiences are central to their offerings, keeping the space vibrant and ever-evolving.
With 40 years of entrepreneurial experience and a love for helping others launch their own ventures, Sarah’s business continues to grow in inspiring ways. One of the most exciting developments? A school bus converted into “Dragonfly on the Road”—a mobile extension of the shop that brings wellness and artisan goods to festivals and events throughout the region.
For Sarah, Buffalo isn’t just home; it’s a place of community and strength. She proudly supports fellow locals and celebrates the “City of Good Neighbors” spirit that defines the area. And yes, she’s also a die-hard Buffalo Bills fan.
Whether you’re looking for healing, inspiration, or a truly welcoming community, Dragonfly Art and Soul is a must-visit destination in Williamsville. With a focus on wellness, creativity, and heartfelt connection, it’s more than a store—it’s a movement.
