JAWS: Helping Arlington, the City of the American Dream, by Keeping it Clean

When we think about waste disposal, we often need to consider what that entails; proper waste allocation, safe removal of toxic materials, etc. As homeowners, we are happy to clear the clutter from our spaces and move on to the next task, unaware that specific protocols must be followed. The repercussions to our environment and ensuring that the professionals we trust to help clean up our clutter have the necessary insurance and do not take shortcuts like illegal dumping are often far from our minds.

This is precisely what the guys at JAWS – Junk And Waste Solutions – are trying to change and raise awareness about. Their goal is the ethical and efficient removal and disposal of all types of waste while helping the community and helping customers save money with the peace of mind that they have made a conscious choice for the planet.

I had the opportunity to catch up with the owner and operator of JAWS, Persons Griffith – or Griff, as he is known in his hometown of Arlington, Texas, which he has called home. He is proud to be a Marine Corps veteran who has served his country for ten years. He has also raised three young children with his partner and fiancé in the same hometown since he was 13. Griff is proud to have a servant’s heart. He is devoted and continuing to serve his country in any way he can.

During our interview, he explained how he lost his sense of purpose after returning to civilian life after being medically retired. He dabbled in the corporate world for a while, but something else was needed. He felt that the monotony of the nine-to-five work lifestyle was killing his spirit and that there was more to offer.

So, after leaving that job, he went to work with his father, who has been in the landscape industry and had a successful business for over 40 years. Griff saw his father adding services and focused on maximizing the company’s environmental impact. This inspired Griff to think outside the box, wanting to bring more of a concierge solutions aspect to the waste management industry. So he created his DR2 system: Donating, Reuse and Recycling.

He went into business with an existing company based in Pittsburgh with the idea of franchising. Unfortunately, things did not quite pan out. Griff then determined to bring his vision to life, dissolved the partnership, renamed and established JAWS in April 2022. He did this with the support of Joshua, his right-hand man, and fellow Infantry veteran, Marina (who now helps run and manage the company) and his service dog, Balbo. This team of passionate servicemen demonstrates that where there is a will, there is a way.

He explains: “We focus our energy and time on trying to keep things out of the landfill that do not belong there. We want to provide solutions to our customers for any issues they may have with clutter, excess or waste, as well as manage resources and find savings that we can pass on to our customers. We will not compromise our integrity for profit.”

They work with various organizations, such as Habitat for Humanity, Furnishing Families of Texas, and Mission Arlington, proudly serving their community. They take time each month to volunteer in any way they can, donating their services to non-profit organizations like One Tr1be, which helps the first responder community, and their local church communities.

Furthermore, their excellent work and dedication have not gone unnoticed. They proudly have countless 5-star reviews on different platforms from satisfied customers.

JAWS offers junk and bulk removal, essential demolition, hoarder and eviction cleanup and dumpster rentals. They are fully insured and licensed, handle permits, and provide the best service to their customers while avoiding landfills and dump/transfer stations as much as possible to help curb the environmental impact on our planet. They are currently offering military discounts for all veterans and active duty members.

Griff hopes that 2023 will bring more opportunities to serve and grow his business, have a more significant impact on how things are disposed of and recycled, raise awareness about the long-term environmental impact of landfills and ensure a better future for generations to come.

They can be found on the web at https://junkandwastesolutions.com/ where they will be happy to find a solution that best suits your needs, ensuring you get the best possible price.
