In the heart of Houston, Texas, Divine Beauty Bar is making a powerful impact beyond beauty. Founded by Dezaree Lusk, a licensed clinical social worker and cosmetologist, the business began with a deeply personal mission: to honor her grandfather, a Korean War veteran, and later her father, an Army veteran. Inspired by their service and her experience with their illnesses, Dezaree created a space that blends compassion, service, and empowerment.

Divine Beauty Bar is a veteran owned business and nationally known for its “Wigs for Veterans” initiative. Veterans suffering from hair loss due to medical conditions can receive custom cranial prosthesis—more commonly known as medical wigs—at no cost. What many don’t know is that the VA covers these prostheses, and Dezaree has made it her mission to ensure veterans are aware and have access. Her organization now partners with over 24 VA hospitals across the U.S.
The business is dual-faceted: on one side, Divine Beauty Bar operates as an accredited durable medical equipment facility providing cranial prosthesis, mastectomy bras, and breast prosthetics. On the other side, it functions as a licensed cosmetology school that equips students not only with technical skills but also with business knowledge and marketing techniques—a rare combination in the beauty industry.
Dezaree’s background in multi-level marketing has given her a resilient entrepreneurial mindset. She now shares that experience with her students, teaching them how to market themselves, build clientele, and grow sustainable businesses. She emphasizes the importance of perseverance, marketing savvy, and personal development as core principles of long-term success.

As a licensed clinical social worker with a specialization in health and behavioral health, Dezaree brings emotional intelligence and therapeutic awareness to every client interaction. Every cranial prosthesis appointment is designed to be private, respectful, and emotionally supportive. This personalized approach has helped many clients feel seen, heard, and whole again after experiencing trauma such as cancer or hair loss.
Beyond the services offered, Divine Beauty Bar is actively involved in local charity efforts. The business supports the Fresh Project in Houston, which provides meals, showers, and resources to the homeless. Dezaree is also active in her church, Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church, which frequently leads community service projects both locally and abroad.
Although based in Houston, Divine Beauty Bar has a wide reach, with clients and students from states like New York, Florida, Colorado, and beyond. Whether through their VA partnerships, insurance-covered medical wigs, or their educational e-courses, the impact is felt far and wide.
Dezaree has visited over 38 countries and says that traveling and spending time with her family are some of her greatest joys. But her deepest passion remains her work. “I love my business,” she says. “It combines everything I care about: healing, beauty, empowerment, and service.”
From honoring her family’s legacy to changing lives through beauty and medical support, Dezaree Lusk’s Divine Beauty Bar is a testament to what happens when purpose meets professionalism. It is more than a business—it’s a movement.
