Tucked in the scenic expanse of Northern Arizona lies Hammer Ranch AZ, a vibrant, family-run operation that is as heartwarming as it is unique. Founded by Amy and Jeff Hammond, Hammer Ranch is more than a business; it’s a lifestyle, a family mission, and a love letter to their community.
Amy Hammond, affectionately known as the “ranch momma,” runs the show alongside her husband Jeff and a full crew of their children and extended family. With 13 children and their spouses—Michaela, John, Emily, Abbey, Brandon, Matthew, Lenee, Michael, Kamryn, Nathaniel, Bethany, Luke, Levi, Cadence, Eli, Aidan, and Judah—each family member contributes to the ranch’s success in their own special way. From tech-savvy teenagers managing the website and laser engraving services to little ones learning the ropes, it’s all hands on deck at Hammer Ranch.
The family dynamic is at the core of what makes Hammer Ranch AZ so special. “When you hire Hammer Ranch, you’re not just getting the animals,” says Amy. “You’re getting the whole crew.” That crew brings an abundance of care, personality, and community spirit to every event they attend.
With the tagline “We bring the ranch to you,” Hammer Ranch AZ offers a mobile petting zoo experience that serves the Tri-City area and beyond, including Paulden, Prescott, Chino Valley, and more. Whether it’s a birthday party, school educational event, or local festival, Hammer Ranch delivers not just animals, but memorable, engaging experiences for children and families.
Their offerings include pony rides, hands-on encounters with farm animals, and interactive educational sessions. For many kids, these moments represent their first up-close experience with animals, and Hammer Ranch takes great pride in making it special.
In addition to their mobile petting zoo, the Hammonds operate a small storefront filled with handcrafted products and farm-raised goods. These include shampoo and conditioner (born from Amy’s personal interest in hair care), homemade candles, and dairy products for pets. Their son leads a line of customized embroidery and rainbow laser engraving, offering bespoke merchandise tied back to the homestead.
On the agricultural side, the Hammonds raise no-corn, no-soy, seed-oil-free meat birds. The chickens are fed a carefully curated diet that includes fermented feed and raw milk, reflecting the same standards Amy holds for her own family’s table.
“We only sell what we would eat ourselves,” she shares. That philosophy of quality and care extends to every aspect of their farm-to-consumer offerings.
Hammer Ranch is more than a business venture—it’s a family strategy for sustainable living and generational empowerment. Amy and Jeff founded the ranch as a way to provide their children with opportunities for independence, creative growth, and financial responsibility.
“We wanted to create something where our children could support themselves doing something they love,” says Amy. Instead of sending their kids into a difficult job market, the Hammonds are building a business where each child can take ownership and develop real-world skills in an environment rooted in family and purpose.
Their vision extends five years into the future, with plans for larger-scale poultry processing, expanded animal husbandry including a growing herd of sheep, and onsite farm tours. Ultimately, the Hammonds hope Hammer Ranch becomes a sustainable hub that benefits their family and community for generations.
Located in the close-knit town of Paulden, Arizona, Hammer Ranch thrives thanks to the support and camaraderie of their neighbors. “We have absolutely the best people out here,” Amy shares. “If you need anything, your neighbors are going to help.”
That same community spirit is reflected in their actions. The family frequently hosts free events like teen nights and barn dances, as well as offering one free birthday party a month to children in foster care. They also give back by donating 10% of all proceeds to Mercy Home Ministries in Kenya, supporting a children’s home and local school.
At every level, Hammer Ranch AZ operates with intentionality and heart. They prioritize family involvement, community engagement, ethical farming, and faith-based giving. It’s a model that resonates deeply with their audience: local families looking for authentic experiences and high-quality products from people they trust.
As they continue to grow, the Hammonds are taking each step with care, ensuring that Hammer Ranch remains a business grounded in values, driven by passion, and built by hand—one child, one pony ride, and one handmade candle at a time.
