Bountiful, UT – Leilani Daines Volkman, a native of Utah and mother of three, is making waves in Utah’s real estate market with her unique blend of empathy, excellence, and innovation. Her journey into real estate is as inspiring as it is unconventional. With a degree in psychology and a brief stint considering nursing, Leilani found her calling in real estate—a field where she could help others without the emotional toll of healthcare work.
“I have always wanted to help people. Because of my ability to quickly make genuine emotional connections, I would be a great nurse or counselor, but I would likely struggle to leave my work at the office without it affecting my home life.” Leilani explains. “Real estate allows me to support people through stressful times and foster long-term relationships, making a lasting impact on their lives.”
Leilani’s business, Volkman Real Estate (established in 2020), is part of Edge Real Estate. It stands out for its innovative services and the personal touch Leilani brings to every interaction. Specializing in both buying and selling properties, Leilani offers a comprehensive suite of services, including 3D virtual tours (Matterport), professional photography and videography (including drone videos), and personalized property websites advertised on over 250 platforms. She also knocks on doors in the immediate area before an open house to inform and invite the neighborhood and offers professional staging and decorating.
“My goal is to provide a 360-degree service that makes the process as smooth as possible for my clients,” she says. “From door-knocking for open houses to creating a dedicated website for each property, we ensure maximum exposure and appeal.”
What truly sets Leilani apart is her exceptional people skills. In an industry often marked by cutthroat competition, Leilani’s approach is refreshingly collaborative. “I believe in befriending other realtors rather than bullying them. This leads to better outcomes for me as well as my clients.” she notes. Leilani’s strong ties to the community and her friendly and bubbly personality she claims are inherited from her father, who worked as an MD in the area when she was young. His passing while she was in high school had a profound impact on her, inspiring her to embody the kindness, patience, and empathy he taught her, rather than the more aggressive tactics other real estate agents often choose.
Leilani recalls dealing with a particularly demeaning agent. “He was an agent probably in his fifties and I guess thought that his more extensive experience in the field allowed him to treat me poorly. He called me ‘kiddo’ and was just being an overall condescending bully while speaking to me on the phone. My husband just happened to overhear him because it was on speakerphone and he jumped into the conversation, which really helped. Ultimately, because I had a better attitude and showed more patience during the whole transaction, our side ended up having a better deal than his side did in the end. So, I guess it works to just try to kill them with kindness, you know?” she chuckles.
Leilani’s journey into real estate was also driven by family needs. After finishing college, she spent years as a stay-at-home mom. But when some extended family moved in, she needed to find a career that would provide financial stability while still being present for her family. “Real estate offered a way to support my family without pulling from my husband’s income,” she explains.
Her commitment to helping others extends beyond her professional life. She volunteers with her church and is passionate about organizing events to help women socialize and form friendships. “I want to create opportunities for women to connect, like speed dating but for friendships,” she laughs. “So many women struggle with isolation, especially when staying at home or raising kids alone.”
Leilani makes herself accessible at all hours, even responding to messages in the middle of the night. She excels at home staging and decoration, ensuring that properties sell quickly. Her clients see her as not just an agent, but a friend and confidante. She understands that buying or selling a home is a significant, often emotional, event in people’s lives.
Leilani’s expertise covers the entire state of Utah, with referrals nationwide thanks to her extensive network. Her diverse personal experiences have shaped her professional ethos. She empathizes deeply with clients from all walks of life, understanding the emotional and financial struggles they might face. She is equally adept at handling multi-million dollar properties as well as modest family homes, always providing compassionate and non-judgmental service.
Behind every successful transaction is a dedicated team. Leilani works with a transaction coordinator, a home stager, and a professional photographer, ensuring every aspect of the sale is handled with care. This collaborative approach has helped Volkman Real Estate earn recognition, with her brokerage, Edge Real Estate, consistently ranking among the top 500 realtors in Utah.
For Leilani, real estate is about more than closing deals. It’s about building trust and long-term relationships. “I truly have your best interests at heart. My motto is relationships are more important than transactions,” she says. “My biggest fear is that people feel like they are being sold to. I present the options, and you get to decide what is best for you and your family.”
With the spirit of a golden retriever and an Enneagram 2 personality, Leilani embodies warmth, loyalty, and a deep-seated desire to help others. Her story is a testament to how empathy and professionalism can transform not just a career, but lives. Leilani Daines Volkman is more than a real estate agent; she’s a beacon of compassion and excellence in Utah’s property market. Her unique blend of honesty, compassion, innovative services, and commitment to client relationships makes her an outstanding choice for anyone looking to navigate the complexities of real estate with confidence and ease.
