Dr. Angie Bee, an ordained Evangelist and founder of Angie BEE Productions, has dedicated her life to creating a space for love, acceptance, and awareness for those struggling with alopecia, an autoimmune condition that causes hair loss. Through her work, she has advocated for not only those facing hair loss but also for individuals battling feelings of isolation and rejection. With a heart for ministry and media, Dr. Bee uses her platform to spread love, encouragement, and hope.

Her signature event, the Bold, Beautiful, and Bald Beauty Bazaar Weekend Retreat, is a unique fundraiser highlighting alopecia awareness. This annual event has grown over the years into a powerful weekend retreat designed to unite people from all over the U.S. living with alopecia, allowing them to share their stories and build a support community. What makes this event even more special is that it fosters acceptance and raises money for the National Alopecia Areata Foundation (NAAF). You can visit the foundation’s website at www.naaf.org.

A Personal Mission: From Struggle to Advocacy

The name Angie BEE Productions is deeply personal for Dr. Bee. Her journey with alopecia began long before she started her media career. She hid her condition under wigs, scarves, and hairpieces for years. The stigma and emotional weight of living with hair loss were challenging, but everything changed when Donna Gray-Banks, a prominent influencer in Volusia County, Florida, reached out to her. This influencer, recognizing Dr. Bee’s potential to impact others, encouraged her to use her voice to raise awareness about alopecia.

This pivotal moment gave birth to the Bold, Beautiful, and Bald Beauty Bazaar, an event designed to encourage people with hair loss to embrace their beauty and break free from societal expectations about hair. What started as a one-day fashion show featuring one bald model has evolved into an impactful weekend retreat that includes support group sessions, photo shoots, and a fashion showcase. This year marks the eighth annual beauty bazaar, which will take place on September 21, with the weekend retreat activities launching from September 20 until 22. Attendees come from across the country to celebrate their beauty and share their journeys with others.

Angie BEE Productions: Empowering Through Media

At the heart of Dr. Bee’s ministry is Angie BEE Productions, a multimedia company that offers a wide range of services. One of the primary offerings is audiobook production, where Dr. Bee and her team work with authors and publishing companies to narrate and produce audiobooks. This has been a significant revenue stream for the company, with 100% of proceeds from June, July, and August going directly to fund the beauty bazaar.

In addition to audiobook production, Angie BEE Productions promotes Christian authors and provides services for faith-based events and ministries. Dr. Bee is also an accomplished author, having written and contributed to 18 books, including anthologies and personal testimonies. Her books cover topics ranging from overcoming adversity to stories of success and triumph in faith. Each one is designed to uplift and inspire, drawing from her personal experiences with mental illness, domestic violence, and alopecia.

Expanding the Reach: The Bold, Beautiful, and Bald Beauty Bazaar

The Bold, Beautiful, and Bald Beauty Bazaar has become a cornerstone of Dr. Bee’s ministry. Held annually in September to coincide with Alopecia Awareness Month, the event has grown from humble beginnings to a multi-day celebration. The eighth annual beauty bazaar will occur on September 20, 21, and 22 in St. Mary’s, Georgia. This year’s event promises to be the largest yet, with attendees traveling from all over the U.S., including states like Michigan, Maryland, Georgia, Florida, Ohio, Mississippi, Arizona, and Indiana.

One of the unique aspects of the beauty bazaar is its focus on community education. The event serves as a retreat for those living with alopecia and an educational opportunity for the general public. Attendees are encouraged to share their personal experiences, whether they have alopecia areata (a form of hair loss affecting patches of the scalp), totalis (complete scalp hair loss), or universalis (total body hair loss). This year, the beauty bazaar will feature fifteen models participating in the fashion show on September 20th and educate the audience about their different forms of alopecia.

Attendees can also enjoy shopping with vendors offering health, beauty, and fashion products throughout the weekend. Vendors and sponsors play a crucial role in making the event a success, and Dr. Bee’s team works tirelessly to ensure a meaningful experience for everyone involved.

Connecting With a Global Audience

While Dr. Bee is based in Jacksonville, Florida, her ministry and media reach are global. Thanks to the power of digital media, she has connected with audiences as far away as Lagos, Nigeria, Australia, Canada, and the Bahamas. Her work is available worldwide, and she regularly collaborates with international authors and publishers on projects like audiobook narration.

In addition to her work in the alopecia community, Dr. Bee’s ministry includes a robust online presence. Her radio show, Mornings With Da Queen Bee, streams on the Jericho Broadcast Network and her Facebook page. The show airs weekdays from 6 a.m. to noon and features holy hip-hop and Christian rap music. Through music, scripture, and interviews, Dr. Bee uses this platform to connect with listeners who may be facing their struggles.

Dr. Bee consistently produces content for her social media platforms to keep her audience engaged. She posts about upcoming events on any given day, shares commercials for audiobook releases, and highlights her latest projects. Her YouTube pages include  www.youtube.com/@AngieBEEPresents  and  Volusia Business Women, where she streams programs and shows she produces with fellow entrepreneurs and authors.

Addressing a Universal Need for Acceptance

A central theme in Dr. Bee’s work is the importance of acceptance. She believes that every person, regardless of background, deserves to feel accepted and loved. Whether she is speaking to individuals dealing with hair loss, mental illness, or domestic violence, Dr. Bee emphasizes the importance of building a supportive community. She says, “People are social and still function better when they have others in their corner.”

This belief drives her to work with people from all walks of life, including children who are being bullied at school, individuals struggling with mental health issues, and couples facing challenges in their relationships. Dr. Bee often shares her own experiences with mental illness and domestic violence as a way to encourage others to seek the help and support they need.

Her ministry is about more than just preaching the gospel; it is about meeting people where they are and offering them the tools to overcome life’s challenges. She does this by providing virtual writing workshops for students, audiobook production for authors, and Moms in Ministry and Dads on Duty support groups, which aim to uplift families and strengthen relationships.

Giving Back to the Community: Dr. Bee’s Commitment to Her Audience

One of Dr. Bee’s core principles is giving back to her community and audience. Whether through her events, ministry, or speaking engagements, she always strives to offer something meaningful to those who participate. As a speaker, Dr. Bee brings complimentary gifts for everyone in attendance.

For example, she will conduct a writer’s workshop for a women’s group this October. Attendees will receive a free audiobook, and those who register will also be published in the anthology. This generous approach underscores Dr. Bee’s dedication to empowering others, particularly women, through opportunities for growth and self-expression. Whether through writing, speaking, or producing audiobooks, she creates spaces where people can share their stories and be heard.

The Power of Personal Testimonies

Dr. Bee’s testimony is a powerful one. She is a survivor of domestic violence and has faced her battles with mental illness. At one point in her life, she attempted suicide, a struggle she recounts in her book Last Week… I Wanted to Die. However, through the grace of God and the support of those around her, Dr. Bee found healing and purpose. Today, she uses her story to inspire others to keep going, even when life seems overwhelming.

Her ministry, rooted in love and acceptance, touches those who feel isolated or rejected. Dr. Bee’s message is clear: No one should go through life alone. By creating spaces where people can share their stories and find community, she offers hope to those who feel lost.

Looking Ahead: Plans for the Future

As the Bold, Beautiful, and Bald Beauty Bazaar grows, so do Dr. Bee’s ambitions. In 2025, she plans to take the event to four different cities, expanding its reach and spreading the message of acceptance even further. This vision is part of her larger goal to create more opportunities for people with alopecia and other conditions to come together, share their experiences, and feel a sense of belonging.

Dr. Bee’s plans include more collaborations with authors, expanding her audiobook production services, and continuing her radio ministry. Whether organizing a fashion show, hosting a gospel radio show, or helping authors tell their stories, Dr. Bee remains committed to spreading love, faith, and acceptance.
