In a world where support is vital, Village to Village Doulas stands out as a beacon of hope for expectant and new parents. Founded by Aijanae Young in May 2023, the agency is deeply rooted in her personal experiences and passion for community-driven care. Aijanae, a certified doula with over seven years of experience, created the agency as a result of her own journey through her son’s medical challenges. This experience ignited her desire to build a support system that prioritizes peace of mind for families.
“My son, Jahsiah, was diagnosed with cancer last year, and the doula community became my village. They were my lifeline, providing both emotional and physical support,” Aijanae shared in a recent interview. “Village to Village Doulas was born out of the need to extend that same community support to other families. It’s about connecting your village with ours.”
The agency offers a range of services, including birth and postpartum doula care, sleep coaching, and lactation support. Aijanae emphasizes that their role is to provide families with peace of mind, ensuring they are not alone during such a significant time. From helping reduce stress during labor to offering overnight doula services for parents needing rest, Village to Village is committed to being a trusted companion every step of the way.
“Our goal is to provide continuity and personalization, something many large agencies lack. We’re community-centered, and that sets us apart,” Aijanae explained.
Serving Pierce, King, and Snohomish counties in Washington, the agency is mobile, with doulas meeting families where they are. With a team of 32 independent contractors, including consultants, Village to Village Doulas is well-equipped to cater to a diverse range of parental needs, from biological and non-biological parents to those fostering or adopting.
Beyond her dedication to families, Aijanae is a passionate advocate for her fellow doulas, viewing them as integral parts of her community. “Our doulas aren’t just contractors; they’re friends and family. We’re creating a safe space for everyone, both our team and the families we serve.”
Village to Village Doulas is currently running a promotion offering a complimentary photo session—newborn or maternity—with the purchase of a postpartum care package of 12-16 hours per week for four weeks. This special offer exemplifies their holistic approach to family care, aiming to create lasting memories for their clients.
Aijanae’s mission is to continue fostering community, both in her personal life and through her agency. A mother of three sons, she enjoys spending time with her family, exercising, and participating in community activities. She also volunteers her time mentoring new doulas and serving as an equity consultant for NAPS Doulas, a doula certifying agency.
Village to Village Doulas is more than a service; it’s a community that uplifts and empowers families during one of the most important phases of their lives. With Aijanae’s leadership, it is a sanctuary of support, where peace of mind is always at the forefront.
