For the past 30 years, John Esquivel and the In and Out Painting and Faux team have been sprucing up homes, offices, and other commercial buildings with high-quality paint jobs. Their main headquarters and business area is the greater Chicago area, but they also have a secondary location in Southern California, specifically the Lancaster area.
“What makes us different is that our service is very personable. We also keep our pricing reasonable, never allowing it to jump to the roof.”
John has been a long-time Chicago resident but recently opened a shop in California to expand the business and help his family. He’s an active supporter of Chicago’s Latino Community, including membership with the Chicago Latina History Museum. In addition, John is big into music, capable of playing over 13 instruments.
John works with a small but close team of seven complex working individuals, including his brothers Joseph and Celzo. Running a tight-knit, family business is what makes John and the team Local Biz Heroes, individuals who go beyond to help out their local communities. This high standard of work ethic and professionalism are integral to Chicago and Lancaster’s economy and society.
With a mind centered around helping out others, John also donates and supports the Wounded Warriors Project, an organization built to provide services and programs to Veterans. John himself is also a Military Veteran.
We sat down with John for a quick interview –
Q- Why do you do what you do? How did you get into this profession?
A- “I’ve always had an eye for creativity, sort of an artistic touch to whatever I do. Painting helps me use that strength. I also got certified to use high rise equipment and boom trucks, so I am also very qualified to do the work.”
Q- How would you describe the main problem you’re trying to solve for customers?
A- “To try and bring beauty back in their lives.”
Q- What’s the most significant thing that has ever happened to you?
A- “Walking out on stage in front of 5000 people during a concert performance. It was wild.”
Q- What’s the most exciting or unusual job you have ever done?
A- “There is a ride named the Colossus at Six Flags Magic Mountain. I painted that roller coaster and even added images at the top of the roller coaster.”
For those of you looking for a high-quality paint job for any residential or commercial building (including roller coasters), John Esquivel and the team at In and Out Painting and Faux should be your first choice.
