For the past 8 years, Svia Rothstein and her dedicated team of Open Space Alaska LLC have been creating a Center for the community and impacting profound changes in the lives of others with yoga, movement arts, massage, and Thai bodywork in Anchorage, Alaska.
“What makes us different is that we emphasize ‘Safe Use,’ safe use whenever people use the space or rent the space for their own purposes. We provide a community focus for people to explore their passions and improve their craft with workshops, retreats, training, and personal home sessions at very reasonable prices. Open Space Yoga Studio celebrates diversity, and our doors are open to diverse cultures.”
Svia Rothstein is the owner of Open Space Alaska LLC and a fully certified Yoga Teacher and Therapist. She has been in business for 14 years as she has had a partner in another business previously.
Svia has been residing in Anchorage for the last 20 years, and what she loves about this city is its central location, cultural diversity, and closeness to nature. She has a beautiful family, including 2 children. She loves spending time outdoors and enjoys fishing, skiing, hiking, and biking. She has also competed in triathlon events.
Svia is what we like to call a Local Biz Hero, a self-made entrepreneur who brings true value to her community. High standards of professionalism and the strong work ethics of small business owners like Svia are the infrastructures of the Anchorage economy.
Every dollar that Svia makes goes back to supporting the local business ecosystem and the community as Open Space Alaska LLC supports several charities.
We sat down with Svia for a quick interview –
Q: Why do you do what you do?
A: “I am passionate about yoga, and I believe that with a holistic and therapeutic approach, we can connect our minds with our bodies. I have a knack for bringing people together in a state of self-awareness and inner peace and empowering them to attain clarity and deeper connection with themselves.”
Q: How did you get into this profession?
A: “Yoga has been a big part of my life since the age of 19. Yoga has always been a way to return to self and connect on a deeper level. It equips me with resources that keep my mind and body regulated and promote overall well-being. Yoga has also been a way to connect with people from other cultures.”
Q: What is the most significant event that ever happened to you?
A: “Life has been a constant learning and growing experience, and I’m grateful for whatever I have seen and the future that God has planned for me.”
Q: What is your general client interaction?
A: “I have worked with clients that have had all types of issues, both physical and emotional. Whether there is a case of a mental health issue such as anxiety, insomnia, depression, trauma or neurological issues, or physical pain, we provide a comprehensive toolkit that helps reducing chronic pain and stress and improving health.
