North Carolina — Fruit Tree Ministries is a non-profit, non-denominational, faith-based organization geared towards replenishing the lives of domestic violence victims and the community through advocacy, community service and mental health support. Founders Faith Alexander and Crystal Lawson explain, “We offer peer support and case management services and different resources to local communities to help individuals or their families regain independence into society after domestic violence or other hardships.”
One of the most notable aspects of Fruit Tree Ministries is its dedication to serving individuals and families who have experienced domestic abuse. The ministry understands survivors’ unique challenges and offers specialized services to help survivors overcome the emotional and psychological effects of abuse.
Founded by domestic abuse survivors who know firsthand the mental health struggles associated with abusive relationships, the ministry focuses on providing mental health services to survivors. Their experiences have inspired them to create a safe, nurturing environment. They understand the importance of having a safe place to stay, emotional support and practical assistance during healing.
The ministry’s commitment to empowering individuals to live a life of faith is at the heart of all their services. Through its food pantries and clothing drives, the ministry helps families in need to meet their basic needs. The ministry also offers assistance to help families secure safe and affordable housing. In addition, counseling services are available to help individuals overcome emotional and psychological challenges associated with domestic abuse.
Faith and Crystal, both ordained ministers, are committed to supporting individuals in their faith journeys. If a client mentions that they would like pastoral counseling, the ministry can offer that service.
Fruit Tree Ministries is a shining example of how faith can inspire individuals to positively impact the world around them. With its focus on empowering individuals to live a life of faith and supporting those in need, the ministry is making a difference in the lives of countless individuals and families in North Carolina and beyond.
