For the past 4 years, Martin Sztyver and his Evo Water Heating & Plumbing team have been providing General Plumbing services, water analysis and treatments, repairs, and installation services in the South Bay area, Morgan hill, Livermore, Mountain, and Los Gatos.
“What makes us different is that we are extremely transparent. We don’t have sales gimmicks, and unlike a lot of companies, we don’t put our customer plumbing technicians into really expensive courses to upsell customers. We are passionate about solving customers’ issues and focused on putting our genuine efforts to provide a fail-proof solution.”
Martin Sztyver is the owner of Evo Water Heating & Plumbing, works along with another Master Plumber, a South Bay Area native, born and raised in San Jose.
Martin is what we like to call a Local Biz Hero, a self-made entrepreneur who brings true value to his community. High standards of professionalism and the strong work ethics of small business owners like Martin are the infrastructures of the San Jose economy.
Every dollar that Martin makes goes back to supporting the local business ecosystem and the community as Evo Water Heating & Plumbing supports the Red Cross and Salvation Army charities, as well as doing long-term volunteer work with BBB and NextDoor.
On a personal note, Martin lives with his girlfriend and dog, Zeus. What he loves about the Bay area are its diversity and all the food joints. He is a foodie and loves the restaurant, Natalie Park Garage, where he sometimes finds his clients down the street. Martin is keen to explore the wilderness and enjoy some outdoor adventures like hiking, off-roading, and sports shooting.
We sat down with Martin for a quick interview –
Q: How did you get into this profession?
A: I was in trade when I was younger, but I was never exposed to the right training or the right mentor. Later I got out of trade and joined construction and labor insurance type work, but my efforts and time were not concurring with the rewards. So I quit and pursued back into plumbing. I got my license and opened up a shop. I took my time to realize what works for me, and it’s amusing how life traces its own path, but I am enjoying the journey and giving my best where I am now.
Martin has received multiple certifications, including Tankless Water Heater Expert Certificate and Softener Specialists. He has also got a license in Plumbing.
Q: What’s the main problem you solve for your customers?
A: We offer general plumbing services, water treatment, water filtration, and water heating systems for residences. What we do on daily basis is installing water softeners, water heaters, tankless water heaters, and repairing them. We offer a complete 360-degree solution to our customers, from a brand-new installation to its repairing and treatment as we have complete knowledge of our systems and processes.
Q: What is the most significant event that ever happened to you?
A: At a young age, I had made poor choices which led me to hit financial rock bottom at the age of 13. I was living in San Diego in 2008, and I was between jobs, but nothing was working for me. For some days, I couldn’t even put food on the table for myself, and I slept in the car for a few weeks. But when I finally got everything together, it was probably the biggest event in my personal life. I got a well-paying full-time job, and after a long time, I was feeling liberated and proud. I feel eternally grateful for the blessings and the transition that I have experienced.
I also consider moving to the Bay area from San Diego a major life event because I moved here on my own with no contacts in 2012. I just took a leap of faith, and ever since then, I have enjoyed every piece of this whole new chapter of my life.
Q: If you could share one tip with the readers for choosing a Plumbing company, what would it be?
A: Find a company where people are extremely knowledgeable and demonstrate a high level of experience with their products and processes. I also encourage striving for transparency and personal connection.
For those of you who are looking for professional plumbing, water treatment, or repairing services, Martin Sztyver and his Evo Water Heating & Plumbing team should be your first choice. In Martin’s own words, “I understand that a customer reaches out to us for a reason, to seek a solution for a problem, and similarly, we are here for a reason, to fix a problem and provide a long-term solution to the customer.”
