In Memphis, Tennessee, there is quite a bit of competition for flooring and home improvement needs. One name stands out however, C&B Floors and Home Improvements has been in business for over 30 years. Andre Becton and his team do pretty much all there is when it comes to home improvement. They install tile, marble, and laminate flooring. They paint and remodel the interior of homes. While they don’t do the install of carpet, they do clean them.
Andre and his crew pride themselves on their level of communication with their customers. They let each person know what is needed, they show them each step of the way where their money is going, and why. They work on residential homes, typically with homeowners. C&B Floors and Home Improvements will come to you if you are within a 100-mile radius of Memphis!
Andre’s father started the business in 1988 when Andre was just 12 years old. Previously, Mr. Becton was a career fireman. He wanted a slower pace once he retired, thus C&B was born. The business is named after Andre’s Father and Mother, Clifford and Barbara. Andre gives all the credit to them for him following this path in life.
When asked about the most significant event of his life, Andre quickly responded with “The Coronavirus. It’s been tough. It took over literally everything.” Andre took a step back with the business, not because he had to, but for the safety of his crews and his clients. It has been slow and steady getting back into things since life has been crawling back towards a new normal. He is still very cautious with people’s health.
Andre is a “homegrown” type of man. He was born and raised in the area. He has been married for 20 years and has two children that are 25 and 13. He also has two grandsons that live with him, who he says, keeps him young. Andre is an avid gamer in his spare time. When I asked him what he liked most about Memphis, he said that it was “the people. The fact that it’s a melting pot of all different cultures, ethnicities, nationalities. A little bit of everything to be seen and experienced in Memphis”.
C&B Floors and Home Improvements donates their time and services to people that sometimes otherwise can’t afford much needed repairs to their homes. They also offer discounts to the military, Memphis Police, and Fire Department members. Andre donates to the Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital as well.
I asked Andre of a time he could think of the most unusual job he had worked on. He remembered a job where he had gotten a call for help. It was an old house. The floor was made of White Oak. The homeowner had recently had a water leak and had called the Electric Company because the water was spilling onto wires. The worker proceeded to cut a hole, four by three feet in the middle of the living room floor! Then they proceeded to leave it there, not even attempting to fix it, or offering to pay to have it fixed. Andre and his crew went right to work and replaced the entire floor, simply because there was no way to match the existing floor due to its age, and the homeowner couldn’t have been happier with the result.
If you, or someone you know, is in the market for new flooring, or any type of home renovation, please give C&B Floors and Home Improvements a call, or visit their website at www.cbfloorandhome.com today, where “Your Satisfaction Is Our Business”!
