For the past 14 years, Denise Maffia, a native New Yorker has been committed to providing her services at Pilates Physique Studio in Cornelius, North Carolina. Denise is a business graduate from upstate New York’s, SUNY College at Buffalo with broad classical and contemporary dance training as her passion. Inspired to learn more about the positive changes she felt in her own body through Pilates Denise became certified in 2003 and began her pursuit of teaching at local dance studios, her home, parks and recreation centers, aquatic centers, and gyms. Pilates Physique works with two physical therapists and a local physiatrist to solve the problems of clients. Known for nurturing the body, mind, and spirit and by providing a range of services such as full-body movement methods and exercises for efficient muscle movement, Pilates Physique has vast experience dealing with varying populations and is always motivated to accept client’s challenges. Denise explained clients’ experience help in avoiding surgery, post-rehabilitation after surgery, and improving overall physical performance. We spoke about the business reviews being from all walks of life such as golfers, athletes, the elderly, work teams, and families all enjoy excelling in doing vital things in life in work and recreation.
Pilates Physique lands on my Local Hero list as they are an active member of the local community supporting charity projects such as Bags of Hope, and Core Compassion Project. An array of help is gifted from raising funds and hosting classes designed with light cardio to support Breast Cancer survivors or collecting food donations for food-insecure children.
When asking Denise how her clients review her, she explained, clients don’t just come by for a 50-minute Pilates session but rather to build a strong and trustworthy relationship that empowers clients to explore their inner strengths and work on themselves, even outside the studio. Great relationships and rapport are built as many clients have been coming for years.
