Opulence Heating and Construction

Martabian Patterson is dedicated to providing quality, affordable service to his customers in Chicago. That is why his business has grown so much through word-of-mouth referrals. Call him the next time you have electrical issues, and you will see the difference when you hire a family-owned business like Opulence Heating and Construction.

For Martabian Patterson and his crew from Opulence Heating and Construction, the comfort of the people in Chicago has been Job 1, giving “great service for great prices.” His is a family-owned business, and he values the personal relationships he can develop with his customers.

His interest in construction goes back to when he was 15 years old. He, along with a couple of buddies was hired by a rehabber to gut out some buildings. He liked that work. He could not do any of the construction but was always fascinated by the ‘after.’ He loved the idea of taking something old and worn out and making it like new again.

He learned that the local carpenter’s union was hiring, but when he took the test, he failed one part. He could have gone back and retaken that part, but he learned that he would have to go 3 months without being paid. Since he was supporting a family (he and his wife have 5 children), this would not be possible.

Martabian was working at Home Depot at the time, and one of the customers with whom he was friends suggested he go into HVAC and even purchased a set of gauges and gave them to him. So he went to school for that, and the rest is history.

He is a Chicago native, born and raised. He likes Chicago because of the unlimited opportunity it provides. His company is small with 3 employees and his son, who he hopes will be taking over the business someday.

Martabian is what we like to call a Local Biz Hero, a self-made entrepreneur who brings true value to his community. The high stands of professionalism and strong work ethics of small business owners like Martabian are the backbone of Chicago’s economy.

When looking for an HVAC contractor, Martabian says to make sure they are competent. Ask a lot of questions before hiring anyone. If you call for service or have a maintenance contract, you will be speaking with his mother, who does his office work. She has always been one of his main cheerleaders and still supports him in his business.
