Nestled in the heart of Northwest Arkansas, Sweet Funk Events is redefining how communities come together. Founded by Alyssa and Charles Kimball, this event collective blends art, music, and nature to create unique experiences for all ages. With a vision of fostering connection and creativity, Sweet Funk Events has quickly gained attention as a hub for celebration and growth.
Sweet Funk Events was born from Alyssa’s lifelong passions: music, nature, and community. The team, primarily Alyssa and Charles, brings years of experience as artists and vendors to this exciting venture. Their goal? To create spaces where people can connect, explore, and celebrate in a welcoming environment. From live music and artistry to floating along the river, their offerings promise unforgettable memories.

The flagship event, Sweet Float Fest, debuts in April and promises a weekend like no other. Set along the Kings River in Huntsville, Arkansas, the festival features:
Additionally, Sweet Float Fest introduces Arkansas’s first Patient Lounge, a space for medical marijuana patients to learn and relax. Designed to comply with all state regulations, this initiative highlights the founders’ commitment to inclusion and education.
Sweet Funk Events doesn’t stop at festivals. The team is planning pop-up shows, educational workshops, and networking events throughout the year. They aim to bridge gaps in the music and art communities by encouraging collaboration across genres and venues.
As Alyssa explains, “We want to give musicians, vendors, and artists a platform to showcase their talents without corporate barriers. It’s all about building a collective spirit.”
The beauty of Northwest Arkansas provides the perfect backdrop for Sweet Funk Events. Alyssa shares how the region’s mountains, rivers, and small-town vibe inspire her work. “The natural state is more than a nickname. It’s an invitation to connect with what matters most—our environment and our neighbors.”
Sweet Funk Events prides itself on uplifting local artists and small businesses. Collaborations with local vendors, musicians, and artisans make every event a celebration of the region’s creativity. Alyssa’s own band and artistic endeavors serve as further proof of her dedication to the arts.
Although Sweet Funk Events is new, the team’s vision is ambitious. They hope to grow Sweet Float Fest into an annual tradition that rivals iconic festivals while staying rooted in community values. Their long-term plan includes expanding their Patient Lounge initiative to other events, providing safe and educational spaces across the state.
Sweet Funk Events is a shining example of how passion and community focus can create something extraordinary. By blending art, nature, and connection, Alyssa and her team are shaping the cultural fabric of Northwest Arkansas.
