Benn Boshell and his plantar fasciitis & podiatry clinic offer specialist plantar heel pain, ankle and foot care in Bath, Wiltshire, and Somerset.
“What makes us different is that Treating heal pain is our interest but helping people feel better is our passion. We are passionate about giving you the best level of care possible and this is what drives us to be the best at what we do.
We believe in the importance of building trusting relationships with each patient. Experience has taught us that the foot is very complex, and most patients require a very thorough assessment to achieve the correct diagnosis as well as additional time to learn about their condition and discuss a comprehensive treatment plan.
This is exactly what we provide. We deeply care about your journey in getting back to doing the things you love most and resolving your problem.”

We sat down with Benn for a quick interview –
Q: Why do you do what you do?
A: “When I was younger and recovering from an injury, I had a really good patient experience, so decided that this the profession I wanted to be in and went on to study to become a podiatrist. I’m passionate about raising the standard of care for people suffering from plantar fasciitis and other foot conditions.
I take great pride in keeping up to date with the latest research and treatment developments and have continued studying and have gained qualifications in Accredited Injection Therapy Training with The College of Podiatry, a Podiatric Surgery MSc Degree, and a Master’s degree in Podiatric Surgery.”
Q: How did you get into this profession?
A: “After graduating from the University of Southampton in 2010 with a BSc (Hons) degree in Podiatry my first job as a podiatrist was working for the NHS in Greenwich in 2010.
In 2015 I joined Hatt Health & Movement Clinic, as Podiatry Head of Service. Responsible for running the podiatry department, with a focus on developing gold standard treatment pathways for a wide variety of foot & ankle conditions I also mentored other podiatrists within the team. I left this role in 2020 to launch The Heel Pain Expert clinic.”
Q: Being a Podiatrist Benn works directly with many people, we asked him what’s the most unusual situation that ever happened to him on the job?
A: “It’s not very common, but I would say discovering patients wearing medical insoles the wrong way around, which can make the condition worse.”
Q: What do you do in your spare time?
A: “I love to spend time with my fiancée, Elena, and exploring historical Georgian Architecture in Bath. I also like to keep fit and regularly cycle, go for nice runs or visit the gym for weight training. I’m also an author (The Plantar Fasciitis Bible) which is aimed at educating health professionals and heel pain sufferers on the causes of plantar fasciitis and options on how to treat it.”
Q: If you could share one tip with the readers for choosing a Podiatrist, what would it be?
“Regular stretching of your calf muscles. A tight calf muscle is one of the main causes of lower limb pain. “
Here’s what others say about the Heel Pain Expert.
Highly recommend. The heel paint expert. I spent over a year suffering from my initial talus fracture trying to get back exercising. Within my first appointment, Benn diagnosed the issue as osteoarthritis. Gave me clear options on how to manage it moving forward. I’ve had Orthopaedic insoles made and an ostenil/steroid injection. Both have made an absolute world of difference.
Benn is caring, thorough, and knowledgeable. He has treated my plantar fasciitis skilfully and provided me with relief after a very painful year! Would highly recommend him.
Following a couple of months of suffering from serious pain in my heel, I decided to finally do something about it. Benn was recommended to me by a friend and from the first consultation, I was very confident that Benn would sort my problem out.
Benn diagnosed the problem (Achilles tendinopathy & Bursitis) at the first consultation after having an ultrasound scan and put a plan into action immediately. After a month I am virtually pain-free and able to walk normally again. Initial treatment was a steroid injection and wearing a boot for 3 weeks which helped immensely.
I am now having 6 sessions of shockwave treatment and after the first session already know it’s working.
Anyone suffering from foot or heel pain should contact Ben straight away. Ben is very knowledgeable in his profession and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone wanting to be pain-free by getting a proper professional diagnosis. Thank you, Benn.
