For the past 5 years, Darrell Sims and his team at Sims and Sons Electric and Plumbing have been providing comprehensive electrical services and, more recently, plumbing services for all of Chicago.
“What makes us different is that we have creative ideas, we pay attention to detail, and we provide above and beyond customer service.”
Darrell, the owner of Sims and Sons Electric and Plumbing, is a Chicago native, born and raised, and of course, a raving Bears, Cubs, and White Sox fan.
Darrell is what we like to call a Local Biz Hero, a self-made entrepreneur who brings value to his community. High standards of professionalism and the strong work ethics of small business owners like Darrell are the infrastructures of the Chicago economy.
We sat down with Darrell for a quick (virtual) interview.
Q: How did you get into this profession?
A: “I got a job as an electrician’s helper when I was a teenager. I was fascinated by the work they As time went on, I continued to train and eventually became a certified electrician. In 2016. I started my own business.”
Q: We asked him what’s the most unusual situation that ever happened on the job.
A: “I was called to a house to do some electrical work. When I entered and looked around, I noted a large number of animals including dogs, cats, and chickens.”
Q: If you could share one tip with the readers for choosing an electrician, what would it be?
A: “If you want it done correctly, call me.”
For those of you who are looking for a professional electrician for any type of work, Darrell and his team should be your 1st choice. You can call him at (312) 282-1170 or visit his website at simsandsonselectric.com.
