For the past fifteen months, Stuart Freeman has been photographing and offering branding advice to business owners and entrepreneurs in the Gloucester, Bristol, and South Wales areas.

We sat down with Stuart for a quick interview to find out a bit more about him and his business.

Q: Why do you do what you do?

A: “What I love most is getting the absolute best quality images for my clients (my Level 3 diploma in photography has been valuable for this), particularly images which are aligned with the ethos and culture of my client’s business, this is so crucial for branding purposes. Most importantly, I love the personal, human-to-human connection when working in collaboration with my clients as I help them present a personal touch and the human side of their business.”

Q: How did you get into this profession?

A: “I have always had a passion for photography and creativity, so after three long years of preparation, I jumped in with both feet and launched f20 Photography just prior to the start of the pandemic.

The last year or so has been particularly challenging, but it has really awakened my passion for photography as a whole and as a business, and I have learned to be determined and self-reflective. It also made me realize how important having support is, particularly from my wife and Luke Burrow, who has mentored me as I grew my business.”

Q: What do you do in your spare time?

A: “I love to spend time with my wife and two children, reading, music, and of course watching Cheltenham play football.”

Q: If you could share one tip with the readers for choosing a photographer, what would it be?

A: “Spend time researching the industry and don’t go for the first person you find. Try and find a photographer who specializes in the type of images you want and who will understand your needs at a deeper level.“
